Stolen from another board because it sounded like a fun topic
Anyone have anything fun or interesting they're looking forward to or excited about?
I suppose for me, it's having a storm door installed on my front door finally. We chose the elevation of our house based on the porch cove that it has and I'm obsessed with it and have it filled with flowers. I've been wanting a glass storm door so I could get some light in that door and see my cute little cove. It's been 2 years this month now and it's FINALLY coming on Friday!
We have DS's meet the teacher night tomorrow. Even though I'll have to leave work early to get to it *grumble* I'm really excited to meet his teacher. Some of the kids from the neighborhood who will be starting kindegarten met up and we all did tie dye shirts for the kids to wear at the meet the teacher event.
ditzydi, I totally understand that excitement! My oldest started a couple weeks ago and we've had some meetings and meet and greets and such and it's so fun. Now some of the moms are getting together to make t shirts for a fun run the kids are doing in a few weeks. I feel like such a mom and I'm loving it!
dreamcrisp1, I've always wanted to go to NYC! I would love to travel like that but now that we have kiddos, that kind of slows us down a bit. One day!!!
callmehales, That's awesome!!! both happy hour and football!
Also, we had a cooler crisp morning and a cooler day today than we've had in months and it's glorious. I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer but I'm loving this change today. Plus I'm hearing the mumblings of all things pumpkin spice which is exciting. Fall is such an awesome time here in Colorado.
I'm looking forward to my birfday weekend :-) It is actually Monday but work is going to be chaos with classes starting, so I'm celebrating all weekend since I'll probably be worn out on the actual day.

We're having a wine/cheese/chocolate house warming Saturday that I'm so excited for. Hired a cleaning company to come by Friday - I think I'm more excited for them.

I love this happy thread. Y'all have such awesome plans! Today I had a speaking engagement and it was the best one ever. Full room, lots of questions afterward, people mobbing me all the way to the parking lot, asking for my card, etc. Felt like a total rockstar afterward.

DS's kindergarten packet is supposed to arrive any day. I am so excited for him. I don't know any of the teachers and I doubt he will be with any of his friends (there are, like, 14 classes he could be in), but this is a all new to us. Exciting!
Happy Early Birthday weekend @blonde407!! That sounds awesome!
mryrcn, we're over the hump for the week so you're on your way! Remind me again where you're moving off to?
bluesecrets and bcarp30, house cleaners..... heavenly!!! I can't really afford to have anyone come regularly but I did get to have someone come Friday before last and it was amazing. I need that kind of spoiling in my life always! Oh and bcarp30, I'm not actually a fan of the pumpkin spice stuff either but it's the idea that counts for me. haha!

I'm excited to go home & change out all of my sofa throw pillows to the new ones that I bought yesterday. I'm going to stop at Costco on my way home & pick up a sheepskin rug for Viv's room too.
I still have approx 1 million projects to do around this house. We've been in it for a whole year now & I feel like I've really been slacking. ( I still need to paint *most* of the walls, replace the FUG light fixture in the great room & add additional recessed lighting in great room, re-finish or just replace the kitchen cabinets, replace the double wall ovens, tile the guest bathroom floor, replace the master bedroom window coverings, install chandelier in my dressing area, replace old sofa, find art piece or something for the large wall in the great room, replace counter stools in kitchen). I LOVE seeing the changes but I don't have the time or the patience to do most of these projects myself. I wish that I could hire an interior decorator to make choices for me & then hire someone to come & DO the projects & installations.
I'm excited to win the lotto & accomplish all of the above
majick143 I just convinced DH that we need one with the bigger house. I can't keep up with it all and add in cream carpet with a black furry dog! I agree with you, I do like the idea of all the pumpkin stuff!
I'm looking forward to happy hour with some friends from work tomorrow. It will be nice to meet up before we head back to school together.
Also, after a year of not working, my husband got a job and starts today. So, I am looking forward to 7pm, which is when the baby goes to sleep. An evening with just me, glass of wine and a Pretty Little Liars marathon. Yes, please.
Eta: Also, I just noticed that both things I am looking forward to involve copious amounts of alcohol.

You're doing it right... in regards to the alcohol. haha!
I totally get you on the evening with a glass of wine, your own shows and being alone. I complain when H goes to the race track this time of year because it's frequent but to be honest, being at home alone with the girls in bed and me with my TV and wine, it's bliss.

true story: my timehop earlier this week was a picture of backerboard in our downstairs bathroom with the caption "making progress! DH says it should only take about 2 weeks to finish!".
THAT WAS FOUR YEARS AGO. and that bathroom STILL isn't totally finished. so i feel you.
We have Kindergarten orientation today for parents, and for orientation for kids tomorrow. Although I am looking forward to it, I'm not ready for this!!!!!!
I'm going to a networking event. I haven't had to interview in more than a decade. And back then I never networked. This whole networking thing freaks me the hell out. But I want to get out there, meet people and hopefully something will spark me and I have an aha moment.
But we did get some good news that DH got a promotion which will also come with a bump up in pay. No idea how much yet.

I'm looking forward to a day off Friday! My new job has this lovely perk called summer Friday's where you can take 2 random Friday's off during the summer. So even though I've only been there a month I still got 2! So I'm taking this Friday off and can't wait to get a haircut, pedicure and I might just use a gift card from Christmas and make it a trifecta and get a massage too.
I'm looking forward to visiting my MIL's and having E meet all her uncles. Not looking forward to the 4 hour drive but hoping for the best! It'll be her first real road trip, longest in the car has been about an hour.

majick143, I'm excited! I haven't been to NYC in years! While it isn't a child, I have to worry about boarding my dog so it's exciting because since I am going without my bf, I don't have to stress about him about being boarded. He doesn't sleep when he's around new dogs!
