Oh totally, I've checked a few people because I'm a snoop. I'm actually really surprised no one was on their. I think my exh was more into craigslist and definitely would have used a different email. I'm kind of sad for all the women buying the "oh he was just curious" excuse
There is supposed to be a search by name database, but I'm not sure what site it's on. I feel bad too, but the paralegal in me is curious to see if my boss gets any new divorces from this information leak.
There is a crazy stat that the majority of complaints for divorce contains the word 'Facebook', as in one of the parties cheated due to reconnecting, or talking/meeting people on Facebook. Now I'm curious to see what percentage of complaints contain 'Ashley Madison'
I checked too and didn't find anything. I've asked if there's been anyone else and he says he doesn't have it together enough to cheat if he wanted to. At least I have that going for me?
I totally checked stbx's emails, but I couldn't even remember all the fake ones. He was pretty successful on AFF (and at conferences, with coworkers, maybe on craigslist), so I actually wasn't too surprised. Ugh.
I checked and wasn't surprised that he wasn't on there. Despite what all happened I still believe that his started as a friendship via fb with someone with common interests and then evolved into more from there and the initial intention was not to cheat. lol@ your post abcdefu since that's exactly what happened to me.

I checked myself and husband's and nothing was on there. I knew there wouldn't be because I'm sure he wouldn't use those addresses even if he did do it but I was more curious about the hacking/fake addresses.
The funny thing is I never even knew the site existed until I this whole thing broke out. Man, there really is something for everyone and my heart goes out to anyone that found their SO email on there. Even if it was fake they will always be wondering.
I looked at the list of e-mail addresses that was leaked, but I didn't use that website to check specific addresses. I don't really remember XH's email, and I don't care to check. I wouldn't be surprised to see him there, because he suffered from a pretty severe case of can't-keep-it-in-his-pants, and got kicked out of the Navy for screwing some random chick on his ship.
I didn't check DH's, because if he is going to have an active account, he's too smart to use his regular address.

Nah. He set up fake emails for his shenanigans anyway, so I'd have no idea what to search. But he did say the other day that he's happy to say that, even with all the stuff he DID do, AM wasn't one of them.
I'm sure I signed up at one point, though. I had met this guy on Match and we went out a few times, and he was just...off. Like you knew he was lying, but it was still kind of believable. Anyway, something he said didn't sit right with me, so I signed up for a free account to see if he was on there. He was. The email address I thought I had used wasn't on there, though. I didn't care enough to try any other search methods.
Yep, I found my XH's old email (that he supposedly stopped using long before we split). It was unverified so IDK if that means he actually used it or not.
I was not surprised, though I kind of doubt he actually had an affair through it. The two women I caught him having affairs with were already acquaintances. However, I wouldn't put anything past him. I also don't care at this point other than for curiosity's sake - I think finding him there was more funny than anything else.
I checked mine and MH's. Nada. Im not surprised. I totally trust MH. But, I also know he's totally smart enough to use a fake email.
I feel like the poster who said she found her H's email, but he told her he heard about it on Howard stern and wanted to check it out is lying to herself. But that may be my trust issues. No way would I buy that story from MH, even though I DO trust him. I'd buy "huh? Someone must have used my email address" before I believed someone is dumb enough to use their ACTUAL email address just to check it out out of curiosity.
I agree jojoandleo and honestly what is there really to be "curious" about? It's just like any dating site except for married people. I don't think it's a trust issue I think it's being smart and not naive ing just blindly trusting someone. I don't think I will ever trust anyone except myself 100%. 99.9% yes. But 100% no. And I haven't had any major trust violated in my life.
Yep. XH was on there. He wouldn't have been smart enough to think to set up a fake email account for shit like that. Although it comes as no surprise to me. Yet he tried to tell everyone that I was the one cheating. Nice!
jojoandleo or anyone else do people actually make up fake email addresses for stuff? I wouldn't use my work email or my normal day to day email that I give to actual people for a site like this if I were curious, but I would absolutely use my junk email address which xh knows about. I know its not quite the same, but I was curious about adult friend finder and signed up for an account on there a while ago. I had no intention of even talking to anyone, I browsed around for about an hour and then never logged back in. I would have never thought to create an email just for something like that. Maybe I am one of the dumb people.

bl- AM doesn't verify emails so you can put whatever you want. I would personally either put a fake email or create an email just for that purpose. I don't think using a junk email is dumb, necessarily, but your primary one is. BUUUT, if H used his junk email address for AM and said it was curiosity, I'd still be suspicious. Probably says more about me.
