I have pretty low expectations when dealing with Eastcoasters. I'm impressed if I don't have to explain that I'm not in DC, but in the state on the west coast.

Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings time, I think. Not sure why.

Most areas of the United States currently observe daylight saving time. The exceptions are Arizona, Hawaii, and the territories of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Arizona, the Navajo Nation observes daylight saving time.

I thought parts of Indiana don't observe DST too. But yeah, obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed if they don't know the time difference between east and west coast, and thinks that DST may add on 5 hours?
ETA: Just googled and as of 2005 the entire state of Indiana now does recognize DST. Because I know you all were very curious
