I've had to submit a couple applications for stuff recently requiring my SSN.
I just got a call back today from an agency saying that my 2 submissions (it's a long process, lots of docs) have completely different SSNs. Apparently I gave mine once and H's the other time. Where's the embarrassed smiley? I joke that I know his better than mine, but apparently it was actually true!
At least it didn't hold up the process more than a couple days.

Ha ha!
Sorry, that is hysterical. I am glad that it didn't mess the process up too badly, but still funny! I have to double check a lot of the time... so I totally understand.

I've been having this problem a lot lately. I couldn't think of H's full social or my phone number. One lady got really annoyed that I didn't know his full social, but they've always just asked for the sponsor's last four and it caught me off-guard. The phone number, I couldn't get past the first digit, I kept thinking of H's. Both times I was just embarrassed and flustered beyond saving.
What am I doing that I barely remember being asked for his? I guess I don't use medical very much at all. I have to look at my ID if someone wants his #.

I have this problem too. And then to make it worse, my brother's and my SSN are literally only 1 digit off. Super fun. We end up on each other's credit report all the time. One time I couldn't get a scholarship released to me because when we did the paperwork my mom put M's instead of mine. Fun times.

I used to rely on my milID as a back-up to make sure I was getting the numbers right. Then I got a new card and neither number is on it. Frustration ensues.

I find I go in phases where mine's the one I blurt out and others where his is. In general, though, I'm really good at memorizing numbers. It happens so subconsciously I don't even realize it until a string of numbers pops in my head, and I realize it will be something like his DL. I have all my CCs memorized, plus one of his. Complete with the 3 digit code on the back. I even end up remembering phone numbers, although I don't necessarily remember who they belong to. I'm weird.
I'm sure I messed up my app most recently b/c I'd just been using his when trying to get a new cell phone plan. The sites kept messing up, so I probably entered his a dozen times in a row. And then I filled out my form. Oops.
We've all done it, but I would imagine everyone else thinks it's really strange.
