Hi Guys! H and I are thinking of trying to go to the Cape for 1 or 2 nights in Sept with the baby. I'm nervous about staying in a hotel with her and I'm thinking a suite would be better, where the bedroom is separated from the sitting area. I have no idea how to search for hotels set up like this that aren't crazy expensive. Any recs if you've stayed in one?
Advice for things to do with a baby on the Cape? I'd love to take her to the beach. Mostly we just want to get away since we can. H is taking the month off for paternity leave. The original plan was for this to ease my transition back to work, but since my job sucked so much, I quit and am trying the SAHM thing for a little while. It is kind of crazy that H and I will both be home for a month! I'm trying to figure out what else we should do to take advantage of this since it will likely never happen again.

It's great that he can get so much time off. Definitely take advantage of it to get away, and the Cape sounds like an excellent plan. It should be much cheaper & quieter but still really pleasant after labor day. We'd actually thought about doing that ourselves, but then SOMEONE decided to come early and screw up the timing of my leave.
You could always try VRBO - we stayed in a really cute place right in Hyannis a couple of years ago. That might work out better than trying for a hotel.
My parents stayed at a hotel/motel with suites in our town a few years ago: www.corsaircrossrip.com/suites.shtml. We visited them there; it's not fancy but it's oceanfront. But agree with the above that renting a small cottage would be great too.
In terms of things to do, I would think that many things could be easily done with a baby: beach, visiting the National Seashore, shopping in Chatham or Ptown, visiting the seals at the fish pier in Chatham.

About 10 minutes outside PTown is the Outer Reach Resort. It's a large hotel that has spacious and clean rooms. We recently stayed there with my daughter and put her pnp in the kitchenette area which was separated by the sleeping area.
It's owned by the same owners as the Provincetown Inn so you can park there for free which was awesome and super convenient.
The Resort isn't ocean front but you can get a room with a view.
