Hi! My two are aproaching 8 months old. We have one tooth and no crawling just yet (phew! DD walked at 10mo). I am really wishing they would fall into a two nap schedule because 3 naps a day is annoying
I decided to 'retire' and am enjoying being home more than I had expected. DD started back to school yesterday and that helps, lol!
So, MoM question, going 38 weeks with these two and them being a combined 15lbs really left me with a lot of extra skin. Is it safe to assume I should stop expecting it to improve at this point (7.5 mo post partum). I have a little weight to still drop but no more than 10lbs. I just want to manage my expectations and clothing choices for the fall!

I'm 17.5 weeks with our boy/girl twins. Trying to figure out what we really need double of or things we'll need/want differently than with DS. Just bought the cribs and bedding last weekend, need to pick paint and find curtains next.

I didn't make it that far, but since I'm a shorty I did get huge fast. I have found that my skin bounced back over time, but my pants definitely don't fit like they used to. I think my hips got wider.

It's been almost 19 months since delivery and I didn't experience my skin really bouncing back (sorry!).
I have about 10 lbs left to lose also, but at this point I think this belly skin will just kind of hang out unless I get some kind of plastic surgery.

My boys went through a hitting/slapping phase that has mostly subsided. It's a relief because I don't know if anything we were doing was working and it was really frustrating when they laughed at our attempts to parent (ha ha). They still hit a few times over the week - but better than 10x a day! Other than that, they're cracking us up and being sweet little guys <3
We are celebrating my girls' 2nd birthday this weekend and I suddenly feel like they are so old! They just had their first dentist appointment. I'm so glad they had a tiny table in the exam room with crayons for the girl that was waiting, both of them just sat there stunned, waiting their turn but I wasn't afraid they'd run off and cause trouble. They were both terrified but cooperated and were very excited for their prize at the end of the visit.
I'm starting to dream about Halloween costumes. I think we'll actually trick or treat at a couple houses this year, I'm probably more excited about that than I should be.
My boys will be 5y in about 2 weeks. We were looking through their baby pics together the other day. I think it was the first time they saw video of themselves as newborns. It was so funny. They didn't understand why "the babies" were crying in so many videos. I was like, "I don't know why you cried so much either."
This will be the 3rd year in a row my kids will not get a party. So far we've managed to convince them parties aren't a thing. I hope this isn't the year they figure out otherwise.
demandypants I am 5 years out from having 13lb combined (then a 9lb-er 3 years later) and about 10 lbs from my final goal weight. Still so much stomach skin I talked to my doctor and she said tummy tuck is the only way. Maybe someday.
My guys turned 5 a month ago and started kindergarten this week! They are sitting next to each other in class, we'll see how long that lasts!
demandypants - while breastfeeding the boys (I went 38 weeks and they were 15lbs total) I weighed what I did in high school (meaning I was way too skinny) and I still had extra skin. Two years later I've put weight back on but the extra skin is still there. At this point, for me, I think it will take surgery to remove it. I will say it is better than it was at 9 months out but like pp mentioned my body isn't shaped the same and pants don't fit like they did prior to the twin pregnancy.

My boys are 2.5 months shy of 2 years old. While some things are easier, right now we're going through a bout of sickness (thanks to starting daycare) and waking up early. At 3:45am. Needless to say, I am so tired I feel like crying on my keyboard. Hoping this phase passes soon.
My boys turned 2 in August and they are the best little creatures ever. Even when they are purposely pooping on the floor. BTW, wtf is that about? Didn't someone here have a child who poops in their room? origami? laurenpetro?
Anyway....right now we are combating biting. The good news is they only bite each other (well, and their sister) and only at home, never at school. The bad news is they could not care less about any punishment I've tried to dole out. They just say "I bite. I sorry." and then hug each other while they laughing. Little shits. ;-)

that would be me! IDK why in hell he was doing it other than boredom. i did tell you he also pulled the fire alarm at daycare, right?

my kids pooped on the toilet and then stuffed it full of toilet paper until it overflowed. And then tried to scoop the overflowing poopy water into the bathtub. Then gave up and ran all over their room with no pants on, getting poop streaks on every conceivable surface, because of course they managed not to wipe themselves while clogging the toilet.
Oh and after I read them the riot act 1 of them asked for candy because he had popped on the potty and at the time we were still giving rewards for that. :S
My kids aren't biters but they hit each other when they're mad. We're STILL trying to find a way to get through to them. They understand but just don't care. I should make them hug each other afterwards. That would annoy them. Thanks for the idea!
The trips will be 4 at the end of this month. They are demanding a Ninja turtle, Frozen and Hello Kitty cakes. I need to call and book their party and figure out the invites.
They started their second year of preschool a couple of weeks ago and that is going good. The girls are in a class together and DS in the class next door.
My twins are 20 months and have been going through a nasty sleep regression thing for the last few weeks. It's been especially hard because I'm back at work, mbut I think we are getting back on track. Fingers crossed anyway. They are just running all over the place and talking like crazy! We are taking our first trip on an airplane next month, so I'm mentally preparing myself for that nightmare! Haha. charley do you feel like 3 years between twins and your next one was a good gap? We're starting to semi feel ready to think about having another, but this last sleep strike scared us.

Oh yes, I think it is pretty perfect. I *might* shoot for 3.5 or 4 if I had it to do again but it's working great so far. Honestly though, they just kind of ignored her for a year and a half (unless she messed with their food) but that works for me!
For the plane ride, snacks snacks snacks. And a portable DVD player with headphones and a splitter if you have one!
My twins will be 11 months next week. They're both crawling and at such a fun stage. I was scared of them being mobile but they seem in happier moods. We are doing more table food and hope to be done with purees in the next 2 weeks. Just using what I have left in freezer. No teeth for either of them.
I'm starting to plan their birthday. I'm anxious for them to turn 1 so I can be done with bottles and pumping but I also can't believe how fast it went.

I only made it to 36w1d but had major skin issues. I'm short and gained 50 pounds. (I gained that amount with my singleton 11 years before the twins so i think 50 is my magic number) It eventually does shrink back mostly to where it was. My girls are 5 and while I'm very fit, I can still pull some of the skin, but it's not so bad I need surgery. I rarely wear pants, but even in skirts I'm a size 2 and the skin isn't a problem. Good luck!

Hi all I haven't posted here in awhile, I lost my old log in and made a new name (just added a 0 to my original name lol wicked creative)
My girls just started kindergarten last Tuesday! I can't believe it. We made it! Lol Ds started 11th grade, so I knew the time would pass, it just passed a bit more slowly with two than one
They're adjusting well. I'm adjusting well. We have them in the same class, which is what I wanted. The school slips them up by accident but thanks to previous advice from @spenjamins I got them in the same classroom by the first day. One is very very small, and is treated like a doll at school. She wAs all through two years of preschool too. They are five (July babies) and she is in a 3T, sometimes I put 4T and roll up the sleeve and the waist of the pants.

josieposy I know!! I can't believe they're already in K! Because they are summer babies they are starting what seems a bit "young" to me, but I know they're ready, it's just the one is so so small that it makes her seem too young.
I actually just lost my job the week before they started, so I've been job seeking like crazy, and the other day dh suggested I take some time off and just relax. What?!? Ok!!
So now I'm fantasizing about all the things I'll do with my "spare" time. Besides physical therapy and house work and part time job seeking, I seriously don't know what to do with myself.
My two started back at daycare/preschool a few weeks ago. They are 3.5. We are battling behavior issues like them not listening. EVER. They also get each other riled up/play rough and ultimately someone ends up hurt, so that gets old. Lots of time outs and taking toys away. Umm I suppose I should say something positive...they have been really caring lately. With each other and with us. Lot's of random I love you's and hugging us and each other. So that's always adorable.
