Because I am yet again procrastinating. ;D
- My husband needs to get a job soon. Yesterday, we literally had a conversation that started with, "so I was reading the user manual for our tv..."
- I have 6 hours until I am on vacation, and a mile long to-do list. But I don't care, because I am tired of this place and tired of talking about programs and tired of people. I need a break. I wish we were actually going somewhere, because I am tired of Belmont/Cambridge/Boston.
- My brother's wedding is Friday, and I am kind of dreading it on some level. I won't be able to drink, because I have to drive us home, and my dad (whom I don't talk to) will be there. Along with a metric shit-ton of family that I don't ever see, and most of whom only met my husband once. So I feel like we'll be on display, and I am waiting for 377 questions about kids. Because I'm OLD! and you know, we need to get to it. Except that we don't want them, so it doesn't matter. So I am practicing polite responses to the question. And buying a good bottle of wine to drink when I get home, heh.
- Our crazy receptionist is heading to Burning Man in a couple of days, and she won't shut up about it. She goes every year, and since she sits outside my office, I have to hear her talk about it. Last year, when she got back, someone asked her why she didn't post any pictures on FB, and she said, "what happens at Burning Man stays at Burning Man." And I thought, "No! It doesn't! It follows you home, and then I can't use the bathroom after you for months!"

Also, I just bought a purse off the Kate Spade sale, even though I yelled at my husband two days ago about how much money we spend at Starbucks. I fail at life. This whole 1 income thing is not sinking in. Siiiiiiiiiiiigh.
The kids question is the worst. You have my sympathy in advance. I have started being really blunt. It's the only way to end the conversation.
Bachelor Pad was bumped for the Patriots preseason game last night and I was slightly disappointed
I rented the Hunger Games this weekend and made my H watch it with me. I was worried that I hyped it up too much but he really enjoyed it. I want to tell him to read the books but he doesn't read for fun. They are so good though. I only borrowed Catching Fire from someone when I read it but I am about ready to go buy a copy so I can re-read it. I have two borrowed books sitting on my coffee table that I have not touched because I have been rereading the Hunger Games instead. This is getting a little embarrassing.

That's awesome about the flights, Rock! I hope your knee won't give you too much trouble. Did you get an aisle seat at least?
As for the kids question - my great aunt literally asked me at my wedding reception. I looked her straight in the eye and said, "well, considering we've been married 15 minutes, I'm gonna see how tonight goes, and we'll take it from there." Honestly!
Also, I had to send Crazy Receptionist an email to let her know I'd be on vacation, because she manages our "Who's Out" page. So she yelled over, "Oh, where are you going?" And I said, "nowhere." So she said, "you should go to Burning Man!" And I snorted out loud. (Literally snorted!) Then said, "I don't really think that's my thing." I emailed my husband to tell him, and he wrote back, "tell her we're yuppies, not hippies." Hee!

Also-also (Yes, I am a post ho today), I am tempted to change my voicemail message to my out-of-office one, so that I don't have to answer my phone for the rest of the day. I screen anyway, so I'd pick up for someone internal, but I don't wanna deal with stupid questions.
Rock, I'm surprised they won't give you a seat assignment for the long flights. In my experience I have only gone without seat assignments until check-in for shuttle flights. I wonder if you could bring a doctor's note or something to help your case.
I'll take the Hunger Games discussion to a separate post because I want to use specifics and don't want to spoil anyone.

I hope the wedding goes better than you expect, 5kC!
People have been asking us when #2 is coming since before #1 was born. Any time I see anyone, I get "DS is so big! When is he getting a sibling?" The worst part is, I'm guilty of doing it myself to people with 1 LO. But I never ask our friend without any kids (although a lot of them are open about never wanting any).
My random: I hate this season of True Blood. Hate. Enough to make me want to not watch next season.

LadyE, I stopped watching a few episodes back. There were three thousand storylines going, and I only cared about 1 1/2 of them, so I just stopped. My husband swears it got better after they wrapped up the Terry and Lafayette stories, but I just don't give a damn anymore.

Yeah, it's out of control this season. I wanted to stop watching after a *certain* character was eliminated, just out of anger. The whole thing has been so anti-climactic and I find myself not caring at all about any of it.
I will finish the season though (only one more episode) since I've gone this far... But the jury is out on whether I'll watch next year. Who knows, though. I'm the person that's still watching Weeds and Grey's Anatomy. I have a hard time breaking up with shows I used to like. I'm always holding on hope that they'll get good again.

It might get better next season, with Alan Ball leaving - maybe the new showrunner won't feel compelled to give every. single. character their own storyline.
I can't believe you guys still watch Grey's. I also can't believe it is still on. I gave up on that show years ago and keep forgetting that they are still producing new episodes.

5kC, I forgot about Alan Ball leaving! I remember seeing an interview with him before the season started about how he took a totally different approach to this season with all of the different storylines. Man, that was a mistake. But I'll give next season a shot with a new director.
Rock, I didn't know you watched Grey's and PP! I actually prefer PP lately. Grey's is just so ridiculous. The season finale was so outlandish that my eyes were rolling out of my head.
I watch a lot of TV because DH travels and I have nothing to do at night after DS is in bed. That's probably another reason that I keep watching shows I don't even like. Haha
