There are other options for accommodating the heat wave that would not be so thoughtless.

When I worked retail in college we had a huge summer sale and it got incredibly hot in the tents. We used to have giant fans that we could hook misters up to. It's not perfect but it's about 1,000x better than what they actually installed.
