My neighbor's niece is visiting from Romania, and she is trying to find a chocolate she had before. She thinks the chocolate came from the US, but nothing is ringing a bell for me...
It is a transparent bag of chocolate balls with something like 1930 printed on the package. The balls are not individually wrapped and look similar to Whoppers or Milk Duds, but are much larger and she thinks they contained hazelnut. Not Ferrero Rocher.
Not US made, but I think Kinder chocolate might make some hazelnut balls. But the packaging would be bright and more memorable, I think. It's usually white and an orangey-red color.
Baci candies I bet. Silver and blue packaging. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Have a whole hazelnut in the middle.
ETA: Nevermind, I mis-read and thought you said they are individually wrapped. Still, these are pretty damn close to the description she's giving except for the wrapper.
Oh hey!!! I just remembered there is a round chocolate candy with a hazelnut in it. Doesn't come individually wrapped, but I think it's two in a candy bar size package. I think the last time I had them was years ago when I visited Oklahoma. Maybe 15 or 20 years ago? No idea on the name.
