I'm so excited. We finally chose our vacation spot and dates! Now I can actually plan it all out. We're going to New Orleans in mid October. Anyone have good hotel or dining recommendations?
I'm thinking I'm going to have to swap to a 7-4 schedule. The increase in traffic lately has been awful. It means I'll have to go to bed earlier and not see as much of DH as I want. I'll still get to see him some during the week.

This week is flying by.
I had a fun call with a lady at a government office today. She left me a voicemail the other day but didn't say anything about what it was in reference to. I call her, and she says oh, I was returning YOUR call. I told her I left that message on August 10 and when I didn't hear back from her, I called her again. We spoke on Aug 13. Her response was just "Well I don't know, I'm just returning messages" LOL. The government agencies here are seriously the most inefficient ever.
ETA: The funniest part is that when you leave a voicemail for her, the message says all calls will be returned within 24 hours. Hahaha!
MrsMB my H had an alternative schedule like that for years. We both loved it! Getting up earlier was so worth the redeemed evening time with less stressful traffic.
HoneySpider lol, aren't you glad your taxes pay for that kind of high quality service?
I clearly picked the wrong health plan this year, because my medical bills are ridiculous. I've paid at least $2k OOP so far this year, and I still owe almost $1k that I'm working to pay off. And that's with medical insurance! I told H that I just have to stop going to the doctor for a while. He told me I can't do that because I really shouldn't, but I don't know what other option I have right now. By the time I catch up it's going to be the beginning of the year again and my deductible is going to reset and I'll be right back in this mess.
Today the AC repair guy is coming over. I think we're going to need a whole new unit. Last night it was so unbearably hot in the house. We never had AC when I was a kid, but I guess I have been spoiled since then. I hope they are able to fix it today!

I got employee of the month on Monday they must have known we were low on money because I got a gift card as my prize, lol.
We close tomorrow! I'm so excited and can't wait to start moving! Everything was approved and we have it worked out so our payments don't start until Nov! Yay! I'm so so excited to have a real home!
((hugs)) and prayers your A/C is fixed @moonbeam! DH and I never turn the A/C on (we're stupid like that...or stubborn). I can recall a few night being pretty big pregnant and it being 89 degrees in our room. It was miserable. Now we have a swamp cooler and need the house cool for C to sleep. It gets to 78-80 in our house and I feel like I'm dying...funny how you get used to things.
MrsMB- DH had to make his hours earlier too because of traffic (and when I worked, I had a 5:30-2:30 schedule and that still had horrible traffic, but MUCH less if I worked a typical 8-5...that would not have been possible). DH is home by 4:30 most days and it's awesome! He can get some stuff done around the house and is usually done by the time C is in bed...although I go to bed early too so we don't have all that much time together- sleep is by far my new favorite thing! Hope your new schedule works out for you guys...anything that means less time in traffic is SO worth it!
Speaking of traffic...DH was leaving this morning and commenting how his commute is getting worse. I told him he knows that answers to that problem (moving)...he's pretty committed to staying til next Spring/Summer.
Not much going on today. It's nice outside so we'll go for another walk when C wakes up. Need to get some chores done and make dinner too. I'm really looking forward to when it cools down even more (especially in the evenings) so I can start running again!
awick14- Have you talked to your doctor yet? Any update on betas? Thinking of you friend!!
*BFP talk below* Beta yesterday was 107, and I get another one next week. (I don't know why they are doing them so far apart but whatever)
My family doctor who is supposed to give me the referral to an OB is not taking phone calls this week as he is in the middle of moving his office. So my high risk OB, who I'm not supposed to be seeing anymore agreed to the 2 betas. I am going to call the OB I saw before and see if I actually need a referral or if I can just call and make an appointment. If I don't have to go through my family doctor that would be better. (I like him and all, but referrals take forever.)
awick14 - I'll have to reassess my options at open enrollment. I doubt there will be any major changes to our options for next year (unfortunately), but hopefully a different option choice might help. This is ridiculous.
