I'm reading In the Kingdom of Ice: The Grand and Terrible Polar Voyage of the USS Jeannette. It is only mildly interesting and I can't wait to be done with it so I can read something light and fluffy.
I have a bunch of kindle daily deal books waiting for me. I ordered Throne of Glass because it was .99 since the new book in the series is coming out. And I ordered The Royal We. I also have a bunch of holds coming up in the library. I might have to shuffle some of those before I am bombarded. I am just anxious to read something more interesting.
QOTW: I love fall and can't wait, but it is still 90 degrees here so the cinnamon brooms and pinecones in the entry to the grocery store seem weird.
Reading All The Light We Cannot See, it is really good I'm about 80% done. I'll probably finish tomorrow but I'm not sure what to read next.
QOTD: I do love fall. I'm exited for sweaters/boots days and hot drinks (apple cider, and hot teas). I also love to take my kids on a hayride and to go pumpkin picking before Halloween. Thanksgiving is like the best day of the year so I really look forward to that close of the season too!

Aw, I loved that book. But it's definitely not light and fluffy. Also, perhaps weirdly, I only like reading about cold places in the winter.
TGIF! I'm reading Alaska by James Michener- I'm only 30 out of a million total pages in, but it's good so far. I am listening to A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny and really enjoying it.
QOTW: I adore fall. I live in Upstate NYS and it is so beautiful here in the fall- plus I detest heat and relish the cooler days with bright sun and the beautiful colors. And I do love all things pumpkin- especially iced pumpkin coffee.
Still reading Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz.
I LOVE fall. It's my favorite. That's why I got married in October. It's also my favorite part of living in the Northeast again. Fall in SoCal just isn't the same thing.

Have I asked where you live, before? I'm intimately familiar with most of it, unless you're in the Hudson River Valley or, like, Plattsburg.

Rochester. So I guess more western NY than upstate. Now Plattsburgh, that's really upstate... Brrr, lol.

I grew up south of Buffalo! My brother lives in Syracuse and my parents live outside of Watertown... which is, indeed, too far north and far too rural for me! I also went to college in Ithaca.

Small world! Ithaca is probably my favorite area. I would move there in a heartbeat.
Still working on "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" which I'm really liking.
Driving, my H and I are listening to "As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the making of The Princess Bride." We have about 30 minutes left and I love it. I'm so glad we got the audiobook.
The Engagements by J. Courtney Sullivan. I liked the introductory stories about each person, but almost felt satisfied with that alone. Not sure if/how the story will get better from here.
Qotd: I like fall once it feels like fall and the light is a certain way. Right now I'm holding on to every last bit of summer, and will as long as I can. We had such a wet spring/early summer so it doesn't feel long enough to me, plus it's been super warm even well into the nights.

I'm still reading The Coronation. It's been a sucky week for reading for me. I'm enjoying it and think I've finally hit a groove with it.
QOTW: I love fall and I love winter, but it's just the beginning of spring here. The daffodils and pansies are blooming and the trees and other bushes are just about to burst forth. I'd really prefer it be fall.

I'm reading Dark Places and so far it's been pretty intriguing. I'm looking forward to where it's going and how creepy it gets. Listening to World War Z and I am really enjoying the different perspectives from all over the world. I'm resisting the urge so far to buy a lot of guns and survival stuff
QOTW : I love fall. It's really the best time of year here. Cools down, trees change color and football! My only problem is that it never lasts long enough and we all know what follows it.

I loved World War Z. I still can't believe how they ruined the movie version of the book. I don't think Brad Pitt and I read the same book.
I also liked Dark Places and all of Gillian Flynn's books.
I just started Sixty Days and Counting by Kim Stanley Robinson - it's the third book in a climate change trilogy (fiction, but fact-based). I have kind of a love/hat relationship with the trilogy but I need to finish it.
Also listening to Stephen King's The Wind in the Keyhole. Good, all in all, but I think I should have read it in paper format to get everything.
QOTW: I love fall because I always want to go skiing. I love spring because there are so many things to do in summer. I basically always look forward to the new season, and I could never live in a place without seasons.

I just finished "Brain on Fire" I loved, loved loved this so much!
I just started 1984 and am thinking of abandoning it, just not my thing
QOTD: I can NOT wait for fall!! Pumpkins, hayrides, scarecrows, jeans and sweatshirts! Weeeeeeeeeeeee
1984 is on my list for the Ultimate Reading Challenge, DH and I are reading it together. I agree, it's just not my thing. It's thought provoking, but without the Challenge/DH I doubt I would have ever read it.
