Am I the only one who finds Labor Day sales utterly repulsive, as some of the hardest workers have to come in and work harder on the day that's supposed to celebrate them?
I saw a sign at my Starbucks today that they will be closed tomorrow. I'm oddly elated about that.
Right? I love her, so I'm resisting posting this from the DOL website:
"Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."
I saw this post today from an acquaintance from the neighborhood and more or less posted this exact same definition. This person is a veteran and everything is about veterans and military and rah rah USA, so if she's so well versed on the military you'd think she would know it's not a military holiday.
