Gaming laptop

Anyone have any gaming laptop recs?   I only play Sims 3 (would like to get 4 eventually), and a very old version of Civilization once in a blue moon (I'm so behind on updating this game).  Anyhow, I've got an HP Envy m6 right now.  It does OK with Sims, lags a bit here and there, even though it has an AMD integrated graphics card.  But I'd definitely like to get something more powerful in the not too distant future with a dedicated graphics card.

Is there a reason you wouldn't want to get a desktop to play on? I just don't like the way the laptops heat up.

Maybe Asus RoG 46vw or Lenovo Y510P or something equivalent. I am not an expert on laptops since H has us build our own desktops but you could build your own laptop using newegg

I have a probably not so good habit of planting myself on the couch in front of the TV with my laptop.  I kinda hate the idea of going back to a desktop in our office (junk room) in the back of the house.  Plus, I love the portability of a laptop.   I guess I assumed with something like Sims I could get away with a laptop just fine, as long as it's a gaming laptop?  Since my current PC can run it with some lag on medium settings.

How much RAM do you have in your current machine? Have you looked into adding more?

You could probably get away with a faster Intel i5 or i7 with an integrated graphics card - the newer integrated graphics cards are pretty good. Just get lots of RAM and a SSD and you'd see a lot of improvement. No need to go for an Alienware or something like that!
