I'm not even sure how to articulate how I feel about this. I mean, I get that she was promised one thing and ended up with another, but it's not like she ended up with a "defective product" here. It's a child. I'm sorry it puts you at odds with your racist family, and I'm sorry you have to travel all the way over to "that" part of town for a haircut, lady.

I'm sure her daughter is going to feel GREAT one day when she realizes her mom sued because she ended up with a baby who didn't look the way she wanted.

I feel so awful for that little girl. I would feel so heartbroken if I read this as a teen/adult about myself and my mother. She sounds money-hungry and her reasoning for the "damages" makes her seem so racist and bigoted.

This seriously pisses me off for so many reasons! As a person who was born with special needs and seeing my mother struggle with the guilt that maybe she could have done something different to change it, which there was nothing to prevent it.

That woman is a straight up bitch! She is lucky to have a healthy child. I bet my mother only wished the biggest problem I had was finding someone to do my hair. Oh the HORROR!

Oh and just so she knows, I'm sure people didn't think this woman and her partner made this baby together because one of them would need a peen for that! Oh and she wants her family to accept her sexuality, but she is unable to accept her bi-racial child. This woman is horrible and if she is just saying all of this in court documents for money; is $50,000.00 really worth your child being emotionally scarred for the rest of her life if she finds that paperwork. vent over!

I think the only person with the law suit against the sperm bank is the poor little girl, who has to live with not one, but two shit bag parents!

I feel sorry for the little girl. One day she will be old enough to understand she has shit head moms. These women wanted a child that they weren't able to create on their own and then complained about the shade of her skin. Fuck that.

While these people are clearly racist bigots I do think the sperm bank needs to be held accountable for the error some how because you do pay for a specific sperm you selected. And now this poor girl is subjected to being black with racist parents. I just feel so bad for the child.

I HOPE that in real life she loves her daughter just the way she is and is only trying to get some money from the sperm bank company. The daughter WILL be able to read this at some point and will be devastated by all the things the mom is saying though.

Raising a bi-racial child is complex but it is not the end of the world!

But, ugh, this story is sad. I agree that the clinic should be held responsible for fucking up.  There should 100% be a system in place to make sure things like this don't happen.  I feel like if they had refunded all the money, I would be able to hate this lawsuit as much as I want to.  The clinic shot itself in the foot by being like, "Oh, sorry, here's a pittance.  Now leave us alone."  No, give back ALL the money and be like, "Here is how we will make sure nothing like this happens in the future."

Their complaints are stupid, though, and piss me the fuck off. I mean, a hairstylist in an unfriendly black neighborhood!?! THE HORROR! I bet you a million nest dollars the hair place is sweet as can be, but this bitch rolls up in there like her upperlip stinks. Then people are giving her the "WTF is your problem" look. She starts the stink eye and then acts like the victim. Fuck you, lady.

I have no doubt their daughter will face prejudice, but I also have no doubt a child with two moms will face prejudice. I have no doubt MOST children face some time of bullshit in middle/high school. And if you didn't, you were one of the lucky ones. A part of being a parent IN GENERAL is dealing with that BS.
