I'm so frustrated.
I'm in Brooks Ghost 7s. My current pair doesn't even have 200 miles on them, and they're less than 6 months old.
The last couple of weeks, they rub in one spot and cause a blister. I've tried tightening my laces. Nope. Loosened them, nope. Went to my running store and asked for help. Bought Body Glide and Swiftwick socks (thinner than what I was in). They seemed to think it was probably a combo of it being hot out and needing a thinner sock. They even refitted me to make sure I was still in the correct size.
I gave my feet a break for a few days to let that spot heal. Headed out today for six miles, and bam, blister in the same spot. I'm getting frustrated and I don't know how to fix this. Any ideas?

Did they change anything with those shoes? Sometimes they'll make a design narrower and I always have blister/black toenail problems whenever that happens. The only thing that helps is finding new shoes.
I have had the same problem when switching from the 6s to the 7s. I can do short runs in the 7s, but anything over an hour or so gives me blisters, I think because that's when my sweat reaches critical mass and also my feet may begin swelling at that point? IDK.
I agree though, new shoes. Please let me know what you pick because I have had any success finding new ones yet.
I will chime in to add that I run in the Ghost 7, and I have never had any blisters or rubbing. Unfortunately these shoes just probably aren't right for your feet. I have quite narrow feet and no bunions. If you have wider feet or toes at all you might just need a wider toebox. You could try going up half size, but otherwise I'd try out some other neutral, light cushion shoes. I used to love an old style of New Balance, and I remember them being wider.

Both people at the running store didn't seem to think it was a fit problem. I've been running in them regularly since May and the blister problem just started within the last couple of weeks.
Arggh.
I'll check New Balance. I do need a wide toe box..
Have you been running any differently at all? When I was still running on my stress fracture, I got blisters all along the inside of my foot that was hurting. I was wearing shoes and socks that I had worn for years and literally half of my inner foot was now torn up. Now that my fracture is healed, I have zero blisters and I'm still wearing the same shoes and socks. So, are you hurt or anything? Is it possible it may be a change in gait, and not the shoes?

That is weird you weren't having problems before. I don't know, but if really good socks and body glide don't fix it I don't know what else to try. I will say that for some people, blisters seem to be inevitable on longer runs. I wonder if certain foot shapes are just much harder to avoid blisters with? Even some pro runners get really banged up feet. I'm thinking of a really nasty foot picture Kara Goucher shared once, and I would imagine she has access to the best solutions possible.
