How did I know it was in Texas? It looked straight out of King of the Hill. I could just picture LouAnne's mascara running as she cries "It's just so beautiful!"
I just had this pop up on my feed. It's terrible. They could have used the song and it would have been hundreds of times better. The recordings took it in to whole new territory.

I saw this on FB. Before I even started it, I thought it was going to be disgusting. The recordings were particularly awful. It wasn't even a particularly thoughtful routine- just a regular routine set to 9/11 recordings/music. I'll admit the I did turn it off about 30 seconds.
I didn't watch it, so I have no opinion of the recordings. However isn't cheerleading itself supposed to be uplifting and inspiring? Who the fuck cheerleads to a national tragedy?

That is fucking awful. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I heard the recordings. Are these people too young to understand why that is inappropriate?
I don't know what's worse - the routine itself, or the hundreds of thousands of shares with comments like " You gotta watch this!! Makes you realize that our future is going to be ok!"

Am I alone in thinking this is absurd? Recordings of 9/11 and cheerleaders?
Very, very weird. BUT, I will say that I think what must have happened is that, since the anniversary fell on a Friday (football game day), and a lot of schools were having their first home game, the schools couldn't possibly (and this is the part that I find most offensive) cancel their pep rallies (I mean, the horror), but they felt like they should do something to acknowledge the worst day in our history. Other than not holding a football pep rally.
My local college had their first home game yesterday. A local bar sent out a post card that H threw away before I could get a picture of it, or else I would share it with you. Talk about crass. "Friday, September 11, 2015... $3 Purple Hooters!"
This is so embarrassing. And what was this anyway? A special assembly for them to do this? Weird.
See my post right above. That's what I think happened, anyway. Dear school, you feel weird holding a pep rally on Sept. 11 because it's fucking inappropriate. No amount of cheerleaders tumbling to "I'm Proud to be an American" is going to change that. Cancel it. If you feel like football seems so unimportant when you remember the events of that day, IT'S BECAUSE IT IS UNIMPORTANT!

No kidding. I don't know how anyone can hear those and not have a reaction similar to PTSD.
