I was at the pedi and feeding the baby a bottle. A little boy was talking to us. He was 6. He said "babies dont drink milk. They drink formula" then he stopped and started again, " no actually, formula is bad. Babies should only drink mothers milk". I said, " well my mothers milk is not good, so My baby gets formula". He frowned at me
This reminds me of my nephew who informed my mom that, "Being a vegetarian is just as good as anything else and noone can make me eat meat," when she offered him something (obviously non-vegetarian) to eat at her house.
yikes, a friend was chastised by a woman at Costco for buying formula. She had her 2 year old and her 3 month old in the cart and a months worth of formula. The woman told her formula was horrible and she really should be breastfeeding her kids, and then she walked away. i would have cutabitch.

The lady said nothing. She then told me that she bf her son and for the first month, she had next to no milk and her son lost 4 lbs (half his birth weight) but she just kept at it. I gave her a side eye for being so stupid and not having a decent pedi (she changed to my doctor later).

I don't get people. I mean if you think bad thoughts about formula whatever. BUT their is ZERO reason to say them out loud. Who thinks it is social acceptable to make comments like that?

I know! I wish I could have been as rude, I could have said, "why would you let your kid starve like that?" I actually thought it was hilarious. The same little boy said he wanted to be a lawyer that carries a gun when he grows up. And that my baby will probably be an engineer because of her big eyes and because she didnt stop moving her hands.
I BF my son until he was 6 months old and then we switched to formula--occassionally I bought those pre-mixed bottles of forumla because it was convenient. At a restaurant once, two women at another table kept turning around when I was getting the bottle ready. I almost wanted them to say something, but they only kept glaring--I was so ready to give them all sorts of unsolicited opinions...lol People need to mind their own business-its not up to them.

That particular mom might be an idiot, but the average 3-4-5-6 year old says all kinds of stupid crap that they invent or make up. It is silly to get offended by it, or to assume he said it bc he heard his mom say it.
DS told someone I was pg the other day. Nope, I'm not. Who knows where he got that.
I have explained the whole BF/FF thing to him (bc yes he has asked!) and he might turn around and spout any one line of the conversation, which out of context might sound bad. Or he might hear something from a neighbor/teacher/etc and repeat it, which I certainly hope, coming from a 4 year old, no one would take a negative reflection on me.
This woman is an idiot! She almost starved her son, yet is judging you for feeding your baby! WTF!
I really got caught up on that part too! Her newborn son lost four pounds in a month? I know they lose a little after they're born, but four pounds seems excessive and dangerous.
