^o)
We had another growth ultrasound to see how big the lil' guy is and he is about 8 pounds. My doctor wants to induce this upcoming Monday! I didn't know what to say, I mean she had been hinting on induction for weeks now just because I had some signs of Pre-E and I had gained "a lot" of weight. I'm happy to be able to schedule this and get to meet our guy soon, but I do worry about how it will all go and if this is the right thing to do.
I decided ultimately that my doctor is the one that knows what is right and after weighing the pros/cons -- I go in officially Sunday night to get the process going and hopefully will have a happy healthy baby Monday! I think the only thing I was worried about is that I will technically only be 38 weeks -- however -- we are all unsure of my "real" due date just because my cycle was irregular. At first my due date was 8-31 then it was 9-9 and now my dr thinks it was 8-31 this whole time!
Congratulations! That's very exciting. I was also induced, so I know how you're feeling, i.e., is this the right thing, I hear bad things, et cetera. Just wanted to share that my induction was pretty much easy and perfect. I was induced at 7:30, started pushing at 2:00 and Lily was born 20 minutes later. I couldn't have had an easier labor and delivery. So there are good induction stories, too. GL!
The only advice I can give is once you have made the decision to trust your doctor let go of all of the "what ifs". I had a bad case of the "what ifs" after I had a c-section with my daughter, but you know what, the only thing that matters is she's here and she's healthy.
Enjoy this very special time. Believe me it goes by in the blink of an eye!
Congrats! I was induced with both my girls. My first was induced because of suspicions of Pre-E. I had great experiences with both. Enjoy your little one!
It's likely I am going to be in the same boat, although the doctor is wanting to wait until 39 weeks. Saw her today and she said she wants to go ahead and schedule an induction, so I am just waiting to hear from the office about a possible date. So unless I go earlier than the scheduled date, I will be induced too.

My doctor told me they might induce me at my 38 week appointment (for the following week, and they were going to scrape my something.. I can't remember what it is called but it's a way to speed up labor) and then my water broke THAT NIGHT! So you never know, you may not make it til Monday But if you do, good luck! I don't know about you but even them just telling me that was a relief because then I had a definite date like "I will have the baby by xxx day"

Thanks ladies - I feel a lot better about it! I know induction just has a bad reputation online so I wasn't sure if I wanted to share my story on my blog/this forum/etc. I like hearing the good stories of induction -- I'm glad they exist! I'll be sure to post how it goes... I'm sure I'll still be all connected to the world of social media!

Hey you shared Bridezilla with the world. |-) You can share this.
I did NOT want to be induced after reading bad stories online. I WAS induced after all and it was just fine. Damn internet anyway. I can't wait to hear how everything goes.

Omg lol Moon! I was just thinking this , kind of. I was thinking about the storm thread and the projection of it being over Ft Meyers on Monday and that that worry would most likely turn me into a pregzilla, and hey, what a coincidence, it's our resident zilla:)
But you'll be in the safest place there is that day. You've got this!
Both times I went in at 6:00 and was getting the pitocen by 6:30-7:00. I was around 2 centimeters with both when I was induced. I had MacKenzie at 7:14 and Madeline at 3:10. But I honestly cannot remember ANY pain what so ever. I had my epidural at 4 centimeters and all I remember is pressure when the baby was ready to come. Once my water was broken, the contractions became strong and regular. I took to the pitocen right away and had no problem with the contractions starting up. To be completely honest with you, I loved knowing that my little girls were on their way instead of playing the waiting game. I just felt more prepared.
One of the biggest questions I see about an induction is when you have to stop eating. I went to two different practices from one baby to the next. My first doctor did not let me eat anything after 12 the night before and I remember being STARVING after having MacKenzie. My most recent OB said I could eat all night the night before and even have a small breakfast in the morning. I felt great for the induction and wasn't as starving as with MacKenzie. Also, bring snacks in case the labor is longer due to the induction. It took the hospital a while to get me food once the baby was born.
