How much would you tip for furniture delivery? We never have anything delivered. We have a truck & always pick everything up, but Pottery Barn only had a delivery option. It is not a big delivery. One coffee table, one accent table. 3 boxes total. I'm betting on one guy with a hand truck, but I suppose there could be two guys & they could carry the boxes in.
For an easy-ish delivery, when you've already paid for delivery I would not tip. We had free delivery on our sofa, and the guys had to be very creative to get it in the door (take off legs, remove storm door, etc.) so we gave them a $20.
Okay, I'm glad I asked. I honestly can't remember the last time we've had something delivered & I tend to be an excessive tipper. I'll just assume that our (not cheap) delivery fee covers it. DH will be so pleased.

I gave $20 each and a bottle of water when we had out baby furniture delivered. It was a lot of pieces, heavy, a tricky bend to get it in the door and upstairs (they were lifting heavy furniture above their heads to get above the half wall) and they assembled the crib.
Can I ask a tip question? Counter service restaurant? 20%? They don't do half as much as table service but when they are standing there while you fill out the receipt I am shamed into tipping more than I think is appropriate. I waitressed and bartended for years and this still baffles me, maybe because I consider myself a good tipper.

This baffles me too. Counter service restaurants are EVERYWHERE here in Chicago and I never know. And is it different if you're just picking up takeout? vs. eating IN restaurant but just picking up at counter? And a ton of them you order at counter and they bring you the food, but no one seems to leave a tip.
We tip $20 total for a basic furniture delivery like that. When we had the piano delivered, we tipped each guy $20. When we moved in, we tipped the movers $30 each and provided drinks and snacks.
Thanks, guys. The tipper in me won out. LOL With that said, they were here for like, 15 min, so I just gave each guy $5. Well, only one guy was still in the house, so I gave him two $5s.
