I am trying to decide if I need this. We've survived this year without it (I cut it when they raised my price to $119) but it would be handy to have faster shipping on smaller orders...
Gawker has been able to find a workaround for existing members in the past - they'll have a post up today if it still works.
I tried their tactic last time, and when I tried redeeming the offer as my prime expired a couple weeks ago, they just turned what I'd spent into gift card credit, not a year of prime.
Not sure what I did wrong. Maybe I waited too long to redeem.

Mine is up in November I was trying to decide. Then I was like Christmas presents for everyone! And it's so nice to have for random birthday parties, gifts I don't have time to go get etc.
And it keeps me out of Target etc. way more often. I say $100.00 easily.
I'm so bitter that I can't renew at that price. I tried the Brad's hack earlier today. Even canceling my membership I couldn't get a gift membership at $67
I jumped on this train. I haven't given in to paying for Prime in the past, but at $67, we should make that back just in the additional 5% on our baby registry completion discount.

DH has prime on his account and it's up in 3 weeks. Can I gift it to my Amazon account that doesn't have a current prime subscription? Or will that not work because we have the same address?
Brads Deals is now reporting that you can't use their hack anymore:( Mine doesn't expire until the end of December so I guess no discount for us. I hate when companies do stuff like this. Why is bringing in new business so much more important than keeping existing customers happy? (I know the answer to this obviously, it's just irritating.)

We have the Kids Kindle for B and the free year of Freetime that it came with is expiring in December. With Prime, Freetime is only $2.99/month as opposed to $4.99 a month, so right there we get $24 back of that $67! Plus that extra 5% off registry stuff. We don't need all that much for #2 but every bit helps!
This is how i justified getting Prime to DH. I'm excited it worked! ;-)
