I know menstrual like cramps are completely normal and I've been having those, although they have subsided a lot. But I'm also getting this sharp cramp on my right side every so often, more like O pain. It started about 4 days ago and sometimes it's enough to make me grimace. It can happen a bunch of times within an hour and then nothing for several hours. It's freaking me out. I'm 4w6d today. And not knowing if my beta is doubling is messing with me.
Is this normal? What I've read online says anything from normal to ectopic pregnancy. Did any of you ladies experience this?

I had sharp cramps up until a few days ago (I'm now 8w4d if you can't see my siggy). Mine are on the left but I also have an ovarian cyst. My OB said it was normal.
However, if it concerns you I'd definitely get it checked out for piece (peace?) of mind!

I agree if it's bothering you, it doesn't hurt to get it checked. It sounds to me more like implantation though.
I had an ectopic and the only time I had the sharp pains they warn you about, it was because the tube had ruptured. They were terrible, terrible pains and I knew immediately that something was very wrong. Ectopics are very rare so try not to worry about them but if your pains worsen by all means let your doctor know and maybe they can do an early U/S to confirm a uterine pregnancy.

Unfortunately I work a 12 hour shift today and they're not open on the weekends. I'll send my nurse an email anyway. Maybe they can do an early u/s Monday to check.

Hm, my notes for 5w3d say "stomach cramps, not like menstrual", but I couldn't identify them as anything else familiar either. I'm also pretty sure I remember getting soreness around my ovaries early on and thinking that their job was done and they shouldn't be hurting anymore.
So, I'm guessing it's almost definitely normal, but I know the anxiety is no joke.

I would probably see if I could parlay the pain into an early u/s, but that might just be my own waiting-for-1st-u/s anxiety talking.
Thought I'd mention, though, that I got suddenly very constipated (sorry, TMI). It happened so fast I didn't even really realize it until I identified the pain that I was having as being from that (and started chowing down on fiber gummies). Just something to consider, FWIW.
I had terrible back cramps at 5w with this pregnancy.
I have had an ectopic pregnancy, and had sharp pains on my left side where the egg implanted in the tube. The pains were worse when I was walking around a lot, and I did have spotting of brown blood. They managed to get to it before my tube ruptured. Honestly, my advice is to always get it checked out if you can. I still had to have emergency surgery, but because I went in early enough they were able to save my tube.
