Both of our Oral B's have poor battery life now. DH's will go from 3 bars to dead while he is brushing. Mine is a little better but not great. I think his is 5 years old and mine is 3 years old.
Do you ever replace your actual electric toothbrush? Or are you willing to just charge it more often?
I replaced an Oral B after about 4 years (I think) or maybe it was 3. The battery just wasn't holding and I got tired of having to charge it every other day. I tried to see if I could replace the battery, but that wasn't an option for mine. Now it just sits in a drawer because I am not sure how to best dispose of it.

I bought a new Sonicare about 8 years ago. Less than a year later (while still under warranty) the plastic covering the on/off button broke, so they replaced it for free. It lives in it's charger, but is still going strong. I think the answer is to buy a Sonicare.
SO has one of the original Sonicares, before so many models came out. He gets about 2 brushing s in under a charge. This unit is about 12 years old. Mine is a little newer, about 10 years old. It holds a charge fairly well, but not as good as new.
I feel like it's an every 5 years kind of purchase. About 4 years ago, I replaced mine and got a 2nd brush for DH. keeping the chargers plugged in all the time will screw up the battery after a while. You are supposed to drain rechargables 100% and then charge to 100%. Mine sits on the charger, but I only plug it in when it needs a full charge. So far, so good.
I bought my sonicare well over 7 or 8 years ago and its still going strong. I buy replacement heads from amazon.
Do you buy the brand name or knock off brushes?
My sonicare is at least 7 years old and just starting to act up with the battery.
Brand name.
I leave it in the charger all the time except for when I'm using it. So it might not hold a charge for more than the two minutes it takes to brush my teeth.
