4. We donate to several organizations. CASANA because apraxia affects us. St. Jude's and Susan G Komen because more cancer research and support is always needed.
1. No, but I almost did in grad school; something else worked out better. So not opposed to using them.
2. Yes
3. No
4. We give most of our donation dollars to our alma Mater; straight into the fund for need-based scholarships. We had a very positive experience there and benefitted from donations via scholarship and we like to give back in that way.
We also give money to church, obvious reasons.
And we give to other organizations on an irregular basis - places that family, friends or ourselves are involved with. Action AIDS, habitat for humanity, stop hunger now, heifer international, are a few from the past. We also give non monetary gifts to other ministries through church and volunteer time.
Adding, when we have a donation deducted straight from our paycheck it's easy to setup matching funds through dh's employer, that's how we give to our college. So double the money.
3. Do you financially support them? Yes I just started a monthly contribution and we have decided to go ahead with the donation in honor of my in laws with a matching gift from DH's company
4. If not do you have a charity you do support and why did you choose that specific one? We give money to march of dimes because E was a preemie and their research saved her life, we make dinners every other month for the Ronald McDonald house because we stayed there when e was in the nicu, I mentor for a teem mother program, and now we will financially support PP because I think all women deserve quality low cost healthcare.

Oh I will have to look into this! DH company matches I wonder if we can set it up monthly.
1. Have you ever used their services? Yes!! I was so thankful for them during college when I could not afford insurance.
2. Do you support them in general? 100%
3. Do you financially support them? No
4. If not do you have a charity you do support and why did you choose that specific one?
We are big supporters of the local homeless shelters because we like to have a local impact. Also, we donate to Salvation Army because they help so many families in need.

I want to say ours is quarterly? But I'm sure that differs by company.
They will also match up to 2.5 days of volunteer hours - so dh has chaperoned college habitat trips for a week, but only used 2.5 vacation days.

1. Yes, when I was in high school I went to them for birth control. 2. Yes. 3. No. 4. I don't donate regularly to anything other than our church, but whenever I find something with personal ties I like to donate. Right now I have a friend raising money for 22q awareness (her daughter was unexpectedly born with this and she's become a bit of a spokesperson for it), so that's my cause of choice.
We support March of Dimes, pay tuition for a child a year at a local school, St. Jude, church and various things as they pop up. Our next "big" donation will be to Chase The Cure, for NPC research.

1. No. 2. Yes 3. No, but I may reconsider 4. I tend to support local causes vs big charities. Too many give CEOs fat paychecks vs giving money to the cause.

1. No, but I haven't found myself in need of a medical service or product that my own doctors haven't been able to provide, and I have always had good health insurance. So I would, it just hasn't been necessary for me.
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Yes, and it sort of varies depending on what is going on in my life. I tend to philosophically stay away from the big national awareness machines. Right now my go to is Donors Chose.
4. If not do you have a charity you do support and why did you choose that specific one?
1-No, but my former obgyn was in the same building and you had to be buzzed in and go through security to get in the building. There are horrible protestors that hang around the legal distance from the entrance too. 2-absolutely 3-not right now but we should 4- We give to the food shelf and the humane society. Even DH can get on board with helping hungry kids and animals. (He researches every charity at length before donating).
1. Have you ever used their services? Yes, I was 19 with no insurance so I used them to get birth control pills & also at a later time for STD testing after my boyfriend of 2 years gave me crabs!!!!! I don't think the location I went to offered abortion services because there were never any protestors around?
2. Do you support them in general? Yes
3. Do you financially support them? No
4. If not do you have a charity you do support and why did you choose that specific one? We donate to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital.
DD was born with bi lateral clubbed feet & they treated her with the best treatment available in the nation with a top Ortho doctor who is now the First female President of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America with out it ever costing us a penny. They are a Masonic Charity & until 2012 they never charged a single patient that walked through their doors in the 91 years prior.
To see the help & lives of the children being treated at that hospital is a truly humbling experience.
3. Do you financially support them? No I've never donated
4. If not do you have a charity you do support and why did you choose that specific one? Yes. Because it means something to us for our dollars to be used for something that's affected us and we believe in
2. Do you support them in general? casting a wide net, yes
3. Do you financially support them? no
4. If not do you have a charity you do support and why did you choose that specific one? This is going to probably start something, but we financially support a local pregnancy care center. It also offers many of the same services as PP and includes prenatal care. They offer classes on things like nutrition, budgeting, etc. It's all free to participate, and women earn "tickets" to use in the store, for things like formula, baby gear, etc.

1. Yes. Post-college, I went to them for my annuals and birth control 2. Hell yes. 3. No, but that may change. 4. We give annually to the Children's Cancer Association, the school districts' equity fund, our local school foundation, and Rotary. There are usually other events that pop up that we donate at, but those are our yearly donations.

You know I love you but please please please do more research into this. Most of these centers are terrible and very hurtful to women.
No disrespect to you personally but those centers are notorious for disseminating false medical information which is dangerous for women. I know your heart is in the right place, but those places have a bad track record
So many. Right now my favorites are a local animal rescue called from forgotten to forever and another called dog is my co-pilot. Always ASPCA and children's miracle network.
Trust me, I did my research. My uncle is a staff physician.
Have you been there . Have you seen the information they give out? It is very often full of lies.
Yes. I actually received services there because I was pregnant and my insurance hadn't kicked in yet. I don't think this is the type of organization you're thinking of?
1. Yes 2. Yes 3. I made a donation the one time I did use them. 4. We mostly support the epilepsy foundation and Parkinson's. My dad is heavily involved with both and we have gotten to know many people who have been helped with their work. We support them both financially and donate our time.

Huh, I've never heard of a bad pregnancy organization.
