AW: I just got a call from our tenants that they would like to extend their lease by 6 months! So happy about that because they seem normal and are taking great care of the place
AW2: I just used my jamberries to make my nails pretty for our date tomorrow night. DH and I are going out to eat a Giordanos and I'm super excited to have a bite of Chicago!
V: DD2 has another bad rash on her butt and it just hurts me to even clean it.
R: I'm in the middle of seriously considering cutting back to 1/2 time at work next year and I don't know how to work it out. I have a coworker who'll work with me, but logistically we have to make the plan and propose it. I'm nervous to give up my current position, but I think hers might work better to share.
R: THREE times today I have kicked the same table in exactly the same spot with the same foot. I can't decide if my appendages are at war with inanimate objects or if the rest of my body is at war with my appendages.
AW: came home from soccer practice and had a big ass box waiting at my front door. It was the new cookware, bakeware and cutlery I ordered and they got here 4 days early.
V: have been dealing with vertigo off and on since the night before last. I don't like this ride and I would like to get off now.
R- redid the boys' dressers with winter clothes. Somehow ds2 has four winter jackets. Aw- I am so organized with the winter gear prep! Usually I'm a bit behind. And my mother said she could take the boys overnight this fall so DH and I can go on a short trip. DH is trying to convince me we should just stay home and relax. Not on your life, buddy! We haven't been on a trip since I got pregnant with ds2 (three years ago!). We are going somewhere! V- we are never going to sell this house, I'm getting too old and tired to have another baby and DH won't consider it until we get a new house.....ugh stupid house stress.
Happy Birthday mama2b! Glad you enjoyed it! R: I'm in ninja mode taking care of the flies that seem to want to move in to our house. AW: I went back to work for a few hours yesterday. I miss the kids like crazy, can't wait to go back. V: DH is on a weird shift, he doesn't get home till 9 pm, and I'm usually getting ready for bed. I miss not see him.
AW: we just used the speaking valve for the first time with DS2's trach and he did really good. I got the hear his little voice for the first time since April! He was crying the entire time because I wouldn't let him down but I loved it.
R-lost my Mac honey love lipstick and was sure I could retrace my steps to find it. Pretty sure it was abducted by aliens Aw-it's Friday so I grabbed a venti iced latte on my way in. Feeling good!! V-need a mani pedi and lip wax stat, feel unkempt lol. But I have no time this weekend so I have to stop on my way home and will be tired. Fwp.
Aw- I am about to leave for a girls weekend with my mom and sister, so freaking excited I love them both so much and we always drink too much wine, and laugh all weekend.
Vent- if one more asshole makes a comment about my son liking baby dolls I will grown one at them. This works is fucking mad.
Vent: I am so tired, my head is pounding and I just want to lay down. Unfortunately I have a presentation heavy day and dh and I have a date tonight. I'm excited about it, but right now I need a nap first and it's not going to happen.

DS' favorite hoodie right now is his sister's old one - bright pink, with sparkly superheroes on it (Wonder Woman, super girl, and batgirl). He loves it because of the superheroes, but mostly because it was hers and he adores her. He has also been sporting a barrette most of this week because so has she. Very few people have said anything about it other than how adorable he is. Until we went to the fabric store yesterday where I was practically accosted for "suppressing his masculinity." Kid you not. Same thing happened with DD when she was a baby and dressed in a brown ruffle little track suit thing. I was told that I was what was wrong with "modern mothers, dressing our sweet baby girls like little linebackers." This shit is not supposed to happen in progressive Portland.
On the topic of rude people...A guy at the post office asked me if I knew where babies came from. For real. Because I love the post office so much you can imagine my facial expressions

Yea for the speaking valve! As an SLP I put many of them on adults and it can take time to work up tolerance for them, so glad you got voicing right away!
Yes I was nervous after reading things about the rushing air being freaky. We used it for his entire 45 minute speech session. He fussed at first but I think he was just figuring out his voice and by the end he was playing normally and trying to appropriately vocalize. His O2 saturation actually went up with the valve.

I just have vents and need some loves.
- I watched DD get punched in the face by a kid after school today. She was at the top of this twisty climber thing, and the other kid was too and apparently didn't want her there and started full on punching her in the face. She had nowhere to go, and was panicked before I could get to her. I pulled her down, my friend who I was standing with told the kid to stop hitting her, and the kid's mom was right there and did nothing. After a minute, once I got DD calmed down, she came over and asked, "was he poking her?" I said, "no, he punched her in the face, repeatedly." She sort of mumbled something and walked off. They left the playground right after, but what the hell? DD was fine, though she will have a pretty good bruise. But what a little punk.
- There was a shooting in southern Oregon yesterday, and I am a mess over it. It's close to home, and when I heard that the teacher was killed, all I can think of is my dad, who teaches at a different Oregon community college. This needs to end.
On the way home, my friend told me that this same kid ripped a chunk of her daughter's hair out during a play date. I think we will be steering clear of this family.
