When she was 366 days old. Before she was 1, she would eat anything. The day after she turned 1, she started throwing food she "didn't like" off her tray and onto the floor, and she hasn't looked back.
Ds1, about 6 months old. Well, no, to be fair, he started refusing bottles at 3 months, if it wasn't straight from the boob it wasn't good enough. So, basically always.
For those whose kids got picky, were they eating a large variety of things, and then all of a sudden didn't like foods they had once liked? Or was it just like anything new couldn't be introduced?
Mostly the latter - not wanting to try new things.
My work around for this is to make new dishes with ingredients I know she likes so I can say 'this is new, but it has xyz that you like in it so please try it and see if you like it'. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time with DD1 it's just a matter of her being hungry enough to eat anything and seeing the new dish enough to 'know' about it.
Luckily she'll eat just about any fruit or veggie and she's not really limiting her diet too much.

My pickier one will like something a lot one day and hate it the next! He's 5 and the pickiest ever. He won't even eat most fruit. Annoying.

DD got picky around 2. She started rejecting a lot of foods she previously liked and rarely tried anything new. By 3.5-4 it was better. Now at 5 she still doesn't like anything involving ground meat or most "kid food" (pizza as an example) but will eat almost anything else.

Exactly this. The day after her 2nd birthday it started to get a little better. I'm hoping for great things in April of next year.

My son was a great eater until 16 months. He stopped eating things he had once eaten. He never liked fruit (he didn't love the juicy consistency but would eat bananas, apples, etc.) but he ate a decent variety of veggies. Full throttle stopped at 16 months. Then by 2 no longer ate pasta (!!!) or most of the foods he once loved.
At almost 4 he's even worse. He is now obnoxious about stuff- he likes pasta again finally but if he sees anything green his sauce (basil, parsley, anything) he won't eat it. He's a pain in the butt. I hope we turn a corner soon.

Probably like 18 months ish. And these answers that it peaks at 3.5 are not encouraging. The very worst part of parenting for me is feeding him. I don't want to have to consciously think about how to sneak veggies and healthy protein into him! As of late, though, he eats peas and carrots at home.
