Probably about a month, but he also skipped army crawling and scooting and never rolled to get places. Did the same with walking, seemed to wait until he could start doing it perfectly.

Same. He could do two little crawls and fall for about a month before he could really go, he never army crawled or anything like that.
Forever. Poor dd would get so frustrated. She just started crawling this week at 7ish months. She has been rolling/army crawling/doing the worm/rocking on all fours for 4-5 weeks? But I will say suddenly she can pull up on her crib/couch/coffee table & get in sitting up position by herself & crawl all this week. It's like nothing happened forever then bam. Lots of baby proofing happening at our house this weekend.
Around a month but it seemed like forever. It was a while a when he was rocking back and forth and then for a week he was sliding backwards before he figured out how to move forwards.
I think it was about 2 weeks for DS1. But he went straight to full on cralwing. For DS2 it was longer, but he did a lot more scooting/army crawling before he actually got up on his hands and knees for "real" crawling.
L mostly army crawled. She would rock on her hands and knees, but drop down to actually go anywhere. She started "properly" crawling around the same time she started cruising, so the rocking lasted about 4-5 months.

there's hope he'll actually crawl! C has been army crawling for about 1.5 months. Like L, he will sometimes get on all 4a but then drop down to go anywhere. Little dude is fast too! I figure he had given up on proper crawling since he can get where he wants by army crawling. He just started cruising this week...now I'm curious if he'll crawl in the near future.

How long from cruising to actual walking?
L started cruising around 11 months, took first steps on her birthday, and it took about another month, maybe, for running to become the default rather than crawling.
L army crawled for a long time (maybe 2 months?) before he got up on his knees and crawled for real. He was super quick with the army crawl too.
That's how DS is. I'm shocked at how quickly he can get somewhere when he's determined. So far, he'll get up on his hands and knees and rock, but then he drops down and army crawls.
