Rainy weather wear?

I posted on MM before seeing this board. I am looking for some recommendations on a rain coat and rainboots. Something very functional but I would also like to look cute and put together for school pick up which I walk to rain or shine.
My cheap walmart boots cracked down the back and the insole did nothing to cushion my foot and I learned the hard way that having a rain coat that stops at the top of my bum leads to one very wet bottom side. Haha.
Budget friendly would be great as I am in Canada and everything is so much more expensive here.

My go to rain boots are my thinsulate LL Bean Bean boots (I have taller Sherpa lined ones for the snow). As for rain cost, I picked up a north face during Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

I have a cute trench style raincoat from Lands End. Mine is a basic tan but they have fun colors too if you prefer soome color. Well made though and not too pricey.

I like Sorel rainboots because they have a selection with heels, as opposed to flat. Raincoat is a long trench (such as London Fog) for business, and a short slicker for field work.
