Naomi had a wicked strike when she was 4 months old, and the ONLY thing that worked (and omg I tried everything) was nursing her in her sleep. I hope she starts again, I know how frustrating it is.

Thank you! She is teething and on the verge of crawling, so I was thinking those things might be causing it. She does still nurse at night, at least 2x per night and that hasn't stopped yet. Last night she was actually up a crap ton more than usual.
Ok, I feel better. I've been trying everything you mentioned. She seems to like nursing sitting up and facing me now, rather than laying down. I am cracking up at your edit. I will try it!
Textbook, thank you for making this thread, and frkls, thank you for having so many answers. Babysaurus has been not exactly on a strike, but particular about when and how she will nurse. She will be acting really hungry and then scream and plank at the breast, which makes me want to cry. I have been sitting there trying a million positions and poking her cheek with my nips because when she was younger, she would do something like this if she had gas, and moving her would make her fart and go back to being a happy eater, but no dice. Apparently I shouldn't be forcing it! She is definitely making up for it at night (fuuuuuck) but it makes me so sad to see her hungry and refusing to eat, and crying because of it.
