Oh man, I'm going to have to find some middle school/high school pictures at home tonight.
Middle school was a lot of adidas soccer sandals with socks, biker shorts with baggy shirts, and big bangs. It also involved a lot of overalls and sunflowers.
High school was a lot of used levis and goodwill sweaters with doc martens and hemp necklaces. Or floral babydoll dresses. Very much this........
Sadly, I cannot find pics of most of my horrendous outfits, but I was all about my yellow spandex shorts at 10. I think I was into my crushed velvet floral shift at 12. Too many logo ON and Aeropostale shirts at 14. I do have an18 yo pic courtesy of a friends TBT posts...
The year before is discovered contacts and I loved Delias and Charlotte Russe for camis/corsets for the 18+ dance club. Sigh.
At 10 I dressed like I do now. In leggings and giant sweaters. I hated stirrups so I would cut mine off.
Middle school I liked wide leg jeans, never owned JNCOs though. And I stole flannels from my dad. I need to dig up photos but I would dress somewhere between Clueless (jumpers or skirts with baby tees), and grunge.
I was recently looking through photos of my backpacking trip through Europe. It would have been the summer of 1992. We were all wearing biking type shorts, oversized t shirts, fanny packs, and white tennis shoes. It was hideous! What were we thinking?

At these ages, which I only vaguely remember, I had no fashion sense, and mostly wore frumpy ensembles consisting of jeans and t-shirts. Around age 16 or 17 I started needing "going out drinking" clothes. I chose matronly suits because I never got carded when I wore them. Around age 19 I cut my hair short and espoused a punk rock look. I dyed it crazy colors and wore slutty clothes. The most useful hair color was grey, again to facilitate underage drinking. That's all I remember. It was a long, long time ago. I was already an adult when a lot of you (on this board) were babies.
I went through quite the style evolution from the ages of 11 to 14, in the hey day of contempo casual, wet seal, ragstock, delias, etc. I went from looking like an extra from clueless, to my flower power phase where all I wore was flares, platforms, and floral polyester shirts, to jnco jeans and baby tees. It was awesome, and I still have a couple of my fave shirts from that era and still wear them, lol. I also of course went through the babydoll dresses with doc martens phase. I owned this shirt and necklace:
I still have the floral shirt peeking in on the right
I think I was around 11 in this one, so early 80's.
This was senior year so late 80's. Too large sweater and acid washed jeans.
You can't tell what I am wearing in this one, but I thought you would appreciate the hair! Senior year 1989!
ETA: I have no idea what I was wearing in that first photo. I don't think I normally walked around in matching half shirt/shorts outfits. I sure hope not!
