Have we talked about this fat shaming Rite Aid Commercial?

This commercial is supposed to be about getting your flu shot at Rite Aid, to me, it's fat shaming.

She's not even fat! She's wearing a shirt that says "I love cake!" Woman loves her cake, and will find a way to eat the birthday cake at the office.

I think if the person doing the pointing wasn't super skinny, they would have been better off.

But I don't see fat shaming.  The woman is wearing an "I love cake" shirt.  That's what I took from it.

It would have been better if they picked someone who was not a full head taller than the cake shirt lady and half her diameter, but like majorwife said, I think it's less about fat shaming and more about skinny bitches being bitches. Note - this is not to say that all skinny people are bitches. But that one clearly was!

If they had a woman the size of Melissa McCarthy in Tammy wearing that shirt, then I think it would have been fat shaming. The lady in this video is "average sized" in America right now and maybe "thick" but that is it. (that is what I was called when I was that size... I am much heavier now).

I don't think she's fat and she's wearing a shirt that says "I love cake." So yeah, I'm not seeing the fat shaming in this commercial. I do think the tall blond is a bitch though because she has a bitchy face and it probably the office bitchy person so now I'm just bitch shaming.

I lurve Nothing Bundt Cakes. My lunch bag is from there. I'm regularly saddened by how it contains spinach but no cake.
