It's been slow here, let's hear some updates. liveintheville, I'm thinking of you and hoping things are settling down.
We just finished our whirlwind month + of travel. We landed at 1am today after a long weekend with my side of the family. It was fun, chaotic, occasionally tense, full of adventures, laughter, and occasional tears (mostly from the children). We had 14 people, including DD and her cousins ranging from 5 to 15 years old. There was a ground wasp nest on the property and it stung 5 people one afternoon while the other half of us were napping. We discovered a rec center including tennis courts, pools, and hot tubs. My mom brought 9 bottles of wine, which was wise. We learned how to use a bear deterrent system, which was a good move considering the GIANT paw print on one of the doors (one tried to get into the house last month). We had family pictures taken for the first time in 4 years.
I'm now sitting in my pjs at my work computer trying to figure out how to catch up on all this work.
Well house is sold and I have been officially homeless since 9/25 and living with my dad. I'm getting a new shiny Chevy Traverse Friday and selling my subaru (hopefully this weekend). I went down and finally visited DH and the new apartment last week in NC and we haven't been affected by the flooding. I finish up work the 15th and have my marathon on the 18th. So I've been doing a ton of running, eating, and sleeping. I've applied to a bunch of jobs and have only gotten rejections so far. I drive down to NC with my sister and the dogs on the 24th. I'm looking forward to the 16th and being done with work and everything else.
drL, does your avatar pic mean you've changed your hair color?
Yes, and I knew you would notice! My stylist called it bronde. She dyed it brown but then stripped some out to let the blonde come through. It's darker (very copper/caramel) near the roots and lighter at the ends. I love it but hate the style. Not her fault, but I don't remember growing out a pixie being such a PITA last time.

RockNVoll I'm actually excited to not deal with house issues and just call the landlord when stuff breaks. I'm concerned about the dogs though and the lack of a big yard for them to run around in and burn off energy. And that they will bark and be insane and we will get kicked out.

drloretta, I may have missed an update somewhere, but how was your trip to Ireland? Did your daughter forgive you for going without her? Hope you had a great time!
bostonmichelle, good luck with the marathon, the move, and the job hunt. I hope you're able to find something quickly and feel settled soon!
RockNVoll, congrats on the new flat! I assume the neighbors are better (so far)? Have fun in SF!
And big hugs scm1011. I hope your IVF journey is short and successful. And good luck with the marathon, too!
We are trucking along. Had some work done to the house, so my poor husband had the baby, dog, and contractors to deal with for the last week and a half. They finished up everything except the storm door for the front (company sent the wrong door *headdesk*) so they'll be back at some point. But that should hopefully be quick. Otherwise, work is the same, and Ben is getting big too quickly.

Great! Despite my DH's fear of traveling in general. I'll post pictures soon

Things are generally depressing here. H is still mourning and his job search isn't going very well. My parents were up just last week to visit and do house hunting in NH. Yay they're coming to live closer! But my mom really doesn't seem like herself at all. Not just tired and lethargic but her whole personality has changed. I'm really hoping this is due to a bad med side effect and not her stroke. And I'm constantly worried she'll have another one So yeah. Like I said depressing.
Work has been really rough the past month, but I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hit the one year mark as a manager! Woooo. I'm ready to go back to my day job. lol.
I'm going on vacation to Bonaire soon and cannot wait! One week of fun in the sun and absolutely no responsibilities :-D

We have been traveling like crazy and are now officially home for a good long time. We spent two weeks in CA in Late September and I was in NYC last weekend to run the Brooklyn half marathon. It went well and it was a fun weekend overall with one of my best friends.
We are getting ready for Halloween and enjoying seeing it all through my little ones eyes. She is growing like a weed, jumping, running and obsessed with books. She is exuberant about life and I adore it. This is my favorite time of year and. I am so excited to be here in MA for my first fall season as a resident!
drloretta I noticed the avatar too. Looking forward to seeing the hair in person. And glad to hear of your successful travels.
scm1011 I've been thinking of you and will be keeping my fingers crossed for you in the coming months. I remember all the angst I had before my surgery so I know that it's just such an emotional time and delays do not help. (((Hugs)))
liveintheville hugs to you too. I'm sorry your family is experiencing such a sad time.
I've been busy working. I have awesome kids this semester. I'm so lucky because I helps not to have to worry about discipline issues when most days I feel like I'm barely awake. Other than that, slowly prepping for the arrival of this kiddo. It still doesn't feel real.
I hardly ever come over here anymore. Sorry, guys.
Hugs to @livinintheville. All the hard stuff seems to happen all at once and to scm1011
I've been busy with work. Having a great year, wearing a lot of hats. I'm starting yoga tomorrow. I've never done it in a class, only at home/on my own. Super excited. I may also join a mat Pilates class through our local rec department. I've never tried Pilates at all.
