Are people as obsessed with selfies where you are as people in the States? I'm curious in light of all these blurbs about US citizens dying while taking selfies and wondering if this is a cultural thing, or just a part of the world becoming so intertwined with technology. What do you think?
I think people here in Seoul are way, way MORE obsessed with selfies than in the US! But I'm from Detroit where people are not over the top about it. Maybe in other places in the US it's more comparable. Here you can't go 1 block without seeing a selfie stick for sale.
Lol. People in Hong Kong are WAY more obsessed. Just obsessed with taking pictures of anything and everything really.
Including non-asian kids! Do you still encounter that? My kids are finally old enough to give the photo takers attitude. So strangers are getting pics of them looking like :?
origami it doesn't happen that often anymore, but we are rarely in tourist areas. Some Asian tourists did take pictures of her while we were in Iceland last week haha.
I bet your boys get extra attention because they are twin boys. So lucky!

Lurking because DH told me there's a 75% chance we'll end up in Korea or Shanghai within the next 18 months. (25% chance it will be Australia, but we know we're going somewhere)
My nephew is a teenager in Birmingham, Mi. Trust me, they are obsessed with selfies here.

Wooohooooo!!!!! Do you have a choice or will it be whatever comes up? I've met quite a few families from the company who have had assignments in both cities so if you want more info feel free to ask. I'm hoping they'll approve an extension for us so I can stay for the Olympics (selfish). DH's current role only concerns the local market so it's possible he could stay but obv not a sure or even likely thing given what's going on here.
