I was just thinking that if your home is being threatened you go to an interior room, which is usually a bathroom, right? Then I started thinking that both of my bathrooms have skylights and they could blow off or something. So I guess our coat closets are best. So today I will spend the day clearing out room in the coat closets for us to hunker down if we need. Then I start thinking about terrible storm surge and what if water starts coming in, and in that case the bathroom is better because we could get our the skylights onto the roof. Sigh. 10 years ago my planning would have been a couple cases of beer and some beef jerky. Is this really what having a baby does to you or have I completely lost my mind? ETA the media seems to be pretty lax about this one when normally (when there isn't a little convention heading to town) they would be all worked up making a huge deal right now. Instead they are staying quiet so all the conventioners come on in and use up all our resources. I'm seriously considering buying a canoe and returning it after everything goes back to business as usual.
I'm feeling anxious about the storm too. It seems like these storms always threaten right around a time when I have plans, or I need to travel somewhere. Arrggghhhhhh

I hope it turns because if not I'll be giving birth during a tropical storm... o.O I'm in Naples and last I looked it said it would be over us at 2pm Monday....
H works in home insurance. They are on top of this shit.
He said late next week, and only one model has it coming up this coast. I seriously hope it doesn't. If it is bad here, he will have to leave to go work remotely and I am not sure I could handle this myself with 3 animals.

Oh, see, I don't feel anxious at all about it. I actually think they are making a big deal about it because the RNC will be here. But call me naive. I'm not from here.

I'm such a baby.
Hold up. Your H works in insurance? How did I not know that. Texting you questions.
Good keep it up ladies, I hope you and the local media is right and we just need an umbrella and some gollashes and this damn thing goes the other way.
I work for Publix and they started their emergency planning today. We are getting truck loads of water and non-perishables as well as bread. I really don't think we will need the amount of stuff they are sending but I did notice a bunch of customer stocking up on cases of water today. I guess we will have to wait it out and see.
I am not too worried about it. The last projection I saw had the storm turning to the West and hitting the keys but not really coming up the coast. I guess we won't know much until it is actually closer.
Whatever. Call me maybe. I'm also ISO an inexpensive pair of galoshes. For real. I take my dogs out in flip flops and that's not nearly sexy enough. I don't want to spend a bunch on an LL Bean pair and I'm not stepping a foot into a WalMart ever again.
I got my rain boots from Terget today! Zebra striped for 30% off. I'm going to be the sexiest dog walker on my block!
I saw those last night at my Target. I don't own a pair of rain boots but I am not planning on going out if it floods. (our neighborhood floods from a normal days rain!)
Smiley we might be in the same neighborhood. Most of the side streets near me closed during the last storm and they opened a shelter up the road for people who couldn't get to their homes. I'm in flood zone AE and the rain comes up to our ground level windows regularly. I wouldn't go out either if it werent for my 2 pups. Needy needy:)
