Update to Tubes in ears - surgery yesterday

DD had her surgery yesterday morning. It went very well, and she's even commented twice since we left the hospital about something being loud, so we can already see a change!

Thank you all again for your responses about your experiences. Now, I think the biggest challenge will be getting her used to ear plugs for bathtime. She was not happy with those last night and just wanted to pull them out. Any tips on that are appreciated.

Good to hear. My sons doc only said to use earplugs if he was going to be submerged in sea water, so we didn't deal with that.

Glad that it went well! Our doc said to only use the plugs in the ocean or lake, so I'm not too sure about that, sorry!

it's an amazing surgery, huh? so fast, and immediate changes! Grayson was so happy after his that he could hear and his speech improved so fast.

our ENT said we didn't have to worry about ear plugs... it was winter so no swimming- he said just not so submerge Gray's ears in the tub at all - and to use clean water to wash off his head, etc (so we didn't use water from the bath, but run clean water from the spout to rinse his shampoo off, etc).

it's been almost 2 years since his surgery and no issues - and no EI's since!!
