What about a bigger diaper bag that's non-fussy, your brother can carry? I still tote around some stuff for my 4-year-old; snacks, change of clothes if he's having a bad week with PTing, squeezable applesauce, a toy for distraction in stores, etc. So I bought a new diaper bag for #2 that's bigger than the one I had with my older son.
Right? Because when your husband is overwhelmed with taking care of your 3 y/o who ONLY WANTS TO BE AROUND DADDY EVER (and has been like that since forever) having another baby seems like a good idea.
Oh also, she's in full on depression-mode because it's a boy and she wanted a girl. As in, she tossed the ultrasound pictures on the floor of the car and hasn't bothered to get them out of the car two weeks later.
It's settled then. A picture frame that says "I love my daddy"
For second babies of the same gender I almost always go practical - big basket of diapers, wipes, pacis, bath stuff etc. You can always throw in some monogrammed bibs and/or blanket too.

I'd go with diapers or books. She likely has enough blankets and clothes. It sounds like she's really picky, so I wouldn't waste time trying to find something to her liking.
My SIL was thrown a shower for her second. It was the opposite sex so all she really needed was clothes and diapers. That is pretty much all anyone bought for the new babe.

Maybe you could get her a few counseling sessions.

WOW. :-| Perfect gift would be counseling in this case.
That...or restaurant gift card, meal delivery from a company after delivery, offer to take older son for a day?
we have 8 of these and oen of the twins has taken them all on as his loveys - we LOVe them - wonderful to have.
diapers/wipes = best things we got when i had my sprinkle for the twins.
something personalized with both the baby and big bro's nam is nice (if you don't know baby's name- then just something personalized for big brother that is HIS and he doesn't ever have to share)
I was reading some of the suggestions and thought half of you had lost your damned mind. Then I reread the designer part. Anyway no suggestions. If I pull up the Norstrom baby web site I may accidentally spend $200.
