I really like this one at Walmart but I want to make sure it doesn't squeak. imojoebunny, does it squeak?
We have the twin size, and my son weighs 40 pounds, so not exactly a giant. His does not squeak that I have noticed, but he isn't doing zumba in it. I have never slept in it.
I wanted something with storage underneath because his room is rather small and when you add a toy box, bed, and rocking chair there wasn't room for a dresser. I liked the Hemnes daybed but it only came in white and DS2's room has white board and batten around the bottom 2/3 of the room and it would clash. We opted for the antique walnut in the bed we bought.
Eta: We wanted a bed without a footboard because DH's family tends to grow very tall people and we wanted this to last past age 10 or so.
I just spent our life-savings (ok, not really, but it felt like it) on a twin/full bunk bed from PBK. It's the Kendall line, and seemed the sturdiest of all of the beds we looked at. I'm not real happy about the price, but furniture is so hit-or-miss lately, not being able to see a lot of it in person that we just decided to do it. We only got the bed at this time, but will get a dresser and a desk when we hit the lottery, er, I mean, when H gets a bonus check.
