If you had one, when, if ever, did they accept defeat?
My 13-week old has refused at intermittent times (6, 8, & 12 weeks), and I'm wondering how much more I should try. I'm a SAHM, so while we could make it work, I'd like for her to accept a bottle once in a while.
My never took a bottle past about 5 weeks. We tried all the usual gambits and moved on to high fluid content foods and water out of a sippy from about 7 months. By 10 months or so he was eating enough food that it wasn't a problem to leave him overnight.

DD never accepted defeat - I did. I gave up around 5 months. It was incredibly hard emotionally at first, but once I accepted that bottles just weren't going to happen, it got much easier. Then it got even better once she started eating solids and drinking water from cups - that meant I was able to get more of a break from her when needed.

I tried practically every nipple/bottle on the market, tried every tip and trick in the book, and half a dozen or so people try. I conceded defeat around 4 or 5 months. I'm not going to lie, it was a tough pill to swallow and it was super overwhelming being his only food source. It started getting better and around 9-10 months when he became pretty good at solids and started nursing less.
Yes, she did. It took a solid week of coaxing and reverse cycling. It completely sucked, for her, for me, for her grandmothers who watch her. I went back to work when she was 4.5 months.
She now doesn't love the bottle, but takes it when I'm at work. Sometimes if she's really hungry she'll even take one from me. She likes Born Free, Dr. Browns and the basic Medela nipple. She was EBF before I went to work, now BF/pumped milk.
Mine did bottles when she went to care at 12 weeks but always refused to take a bottle from ME. Refused to take it from DH if I was home. Did just fine when I went out.

DD never fully admitted defeat, but eventually she did give in just enough to eat an ounce or two here and there to take the edge off. She was at daycare, though, so that's probably a little different situation. Either way, she was happy during the day even though she wasn't eating much. She just reverse cycled and was up all night every night. *sigh*
I accepted defeat about a month ago, she's 6 months old. I SAH and don't like pumping, so it wasn't a high priority for me anyway. It would have been nice for her to take a bottle from DH or the babysitter, but I didn't want that bad enough to continually pump to make bottles "just because" KWIM. Plus I can VERY EASILY veer into oversupply, and I didn't want that either. So I gave up. Now when we want to go out, I feed DD, we go to dinner, and come home 2-3 hours later. She's hungry by then but she's fine.
