Trying to convince our kid to keep his glasses on. He just got them today, so it may be a while. Thought maybe there is a TV character with glasses we could watch an episode?
Arthur Whiff on Thomas the train There's some character on Syd the science kid I think. The old man in UP Velma on Scooby Doo I think Owl on Winnie the Pooh? Prince Wednesday on Daniel Tiger
A lot of people covered the ones I am familiar with.. You should join the Facebook group "little four eyes" and make a post.. I see people asking about this a lot.
How old is he?
It will take his eyes a bit to adjust to the prescription. Even though the glasses will give him better Vision his eyes have been compensating for the poor vision so they need to learn to relax and allow the glasses to work. It takes a bit of time.
For my son (but he's a baby/toddler) we put them on then immediately distract his hands. You could also bribe him/offer rewards or set a timer and say he can take a break once the timer goes off then lengthen it. Glasses are "popular" right now so there are tons of clothes with glasses on them
He's 2.5. Thanks for the tips! We have been trying distraction and bribery tonight, but can't decide if we should just not make a big deal of it and let him figure out he wants to wear them?

I would do a mix. Don't make a big deal but just keep replacing them when he takes them off. Come up with a phrase and just repeat it "glasses on" "glasses help us see" "thank you, please leave them on" something like that...
He may be too young for the suggestions above. 2.5 is a difficult age! I would just do your best to stay on top of replacing them (exhausting I know) and maybe stop an hour before bed time to let him relax a little.

Hugs! If you're on FB join the group! I love it!
Oh also, are you sure the size is correct?
PIP this cuteness!!!
Good idea on the hour before bed. He kept them on for about thirty minutes tonight, so it's a start. I'll join that fb group! They are definitely too big and slipping a little. The glasses place actually had us pick a different pair with nose pads tonight that we'll hopefully get soon.

You probably don't want to hear this but most optical shops aren't good with sizing- even kid specific ones most also don't know of all the option available for kids. You can get lots of great advice on sizing in the group. A lot of people get new frames after joining the group which is bummer but better in the long run.

Good to know! We have 60 days to keep changing them, so if the next ones don't work, they said we'll just keep trying. I'll check out the group for sizing, too. Thanks!
