DS is supposed to bring "his favorite farm animal." All he has that fits that are Little People animals. I don't want to write his name on any of the animals.
Would sticking his name on tape work? Is the tape going to come off? Or I could send a farm book in. (Not what they asked for) Should we "forget?"
I just REALLY don't want to lose a little people animal bc of this. He plays with them tons at home. At the same time, he learns a lot at daycare and I want to be participatory.
I would put a name label on it (I have some tiny ones meant for smaller objects) and Goo-gone the heck out of the item after peeling off the sticker later.
Do you have any of the pretty tape Erin Condren people use?
I's daycare uses that instead of names. Sadly his color is black. I decided against asking for a new color to avoid looking crazy.
No Erin Condren tape, lol.
it sounds like masking tape should stay on. I'll just do that. We really don't have tons of "stuff" in our tiny house so things like this are always kind of a pain. We only have things that "bring us joy"
You can sharpie off with alcohol, nail polish remover or hell it'll probably fade in time.
Check the stuffed animal bin. Every kid has a stuffed something that would qualify. Sheep? Lamb? Bunny?
That's really good to know about the sharpie.
I used to feel really good about not have too many toys. Now I just feel inadequate and like I'm depriving my child. We don't have a stuffed animal bin. He has his precious "blue bear" and his dog that was his father's when he was a child. Clearly, I'm doing parenting all wrong.

No to the last sentence (can't bold on my phone). Clearly, you're not related to a bunch of people who keep buying your kid toys and stuffed animals over your claims that you don't need any more.

The one advantage of not having any local family is we are the only ones who do the toy buying. Usually, this is a plus, but not on "farm day" at daycare, lol.

I would just send a little people animal, and maybe sharpie some initials on the bottom. Sharpie does come off. You're not doing anything wrong! Just please don't "forget". Having your kid potentially feel left out isn't worth whatever the resale difference between a full set and one missing animal is. Our daycare is always really good about keeping stuff like this safe- they know they're requesting something out of the ordinary. It'll be ok.

Just do the tape. You're making this harder than his has to be. They are probably just going to use them at circle No teacher wants to let the whole class play with their home toys all day long.
