Probably not. Are balance bikes really that tricky? People here are buying them for their 2-3 year olds.
We've been working with C all summer on hers. She's juuuuuust now starting to get it. She's 2.5. So, it takes some effort but not terribly difficult, no.
No. For $90, I want something that isn't going to fade right away.
Also, they've got balance bikes for 4-6 years old? Not in my experience. All of my friends who have introduced them after 3 years have had no luck with them. Kids don't seem to be interested anymore. And most kids who were on balance bikes at 2-3 were on regular 2 wheel bikes by 4. DS1 was 3.5.
A 4 year old will see that as a baby toy & likely have no interest.
Nope, probably not even at a lower price. Limited interest and wouldn't hold up through several kids. I'd also prefer a balance bike with real tires for that category.
However, I would buy one. I see the need with DS. He's a bit too old for the ride on toys but at 19 months is a bit too little for an actual trike/balance bike/along that line.
Like @246baje, my parents bought DS a Pewi Y-bike, which I think is a better product than what you linked OP. He loved it from age 1.5-3.5. Now at 3.5 he has a real tricycle. My parents are saving the Y-bike for DD.
We did the same as 246baje. DD had the Pewi and loved it from 1.5-2.5, when she switched to trying on the balance bike. At 3.5 she still isn't super quick, but I think she'd be bored with that.
No way. It looks really cheap and I really don't understand the need for it. And I'd never remember the name!
Also, this makes no sense. Are they really saying that kids don't ride a regular bike until they are 7? DD1 (and most kids I know) where riding a regular bike without training wheels by the age of 5. DD2 was 4.5 this summer and still had training wheels but I'm sure by next summer she won't need them.
No. I don't agree with the ages they list on their chart. From age 2-3 we used a true balance bike. By 4 they were both riding a 2 wheel bike without training wheels.
