I realized I should put a disclaimer that this is freaking gross.
I have a corset (that's what the fat sucker boob holder things are called, right?) and I just realized that it is going to be right over all of the shingle sores. Right now they are super painful.
“Life is not orderly. No matter how we try to make it so, right in the middle of it lose a leg, fall in love, drop a jar of applesauce.” - Natalie Goldberg
It's mostly an all the time thing, but both the pressure and rubbing elements are there.
I considered calling and asking for the pain meds they offered, but I don't want to be all loopy for the wedding. And she will be upset if I can't drink.

So what? If you're on antibiotics you're not supposed to be drinking anyway. I'm assuming she'll be upset if you're in agony all day.

Exactly. I'd try to find the corset liners the PP mentioned.

The pain will lessen by Saturday. It will still suck, but not enough that I would do the pain meds. Between my DH and I, we've had shingles like 5 times. Ugh.
Having had shingles, that corset is probably going to be really uncomfortable. You will probably feel better by Saturday, but it was probably 2 weeks until my sores completely felt better. The gauze will probably help. Did your doctor prescribe any cream for the sores? That helped me a lot with the pain.
I would skip the corset for a strapless bra, and bandage the crap out of the shingles. Mine is much better when I cover the rash in gauze and then tape it up

Gauze and vet tape. Cover the shingles with the gauze, use the vet tape as a wrap (it only sticks to itself, not your skin ... good for shingles-like skin issues. You can get it anywhere they sell horse supplies.

They sell some at Target too, though it isn't called vet wrap. It's with the first aid supplies.
Man, that sucks. I had shingles and that shit needs to breath. I wouldn't wear that if I could find a way around it. It will be painful. That's like, the worst thing for shingles.
