Isn't at all what it's supposed to be. I got a manicure with the vinylux polish on Monday. By yesterday it was already showing a lot of wear and last night the polish on one nail peeled half off. This is just like a normal manicure for me, except slightly more expensive! I've had color gel for a while (took it off 3 weeks ago) so my nails are not in perfect condition. But still.... I thought I'd get a few days chip free. Ugh. Anyone else use it?
Agreed. I bought a couple colors to try on myself last year. I liked the colors but wasn't very impressed with the lasting time compared to other colors. I love most Julep polishes. I also use OPI, Essie, etc..
The other day at the nail salon I saw they had a new OPI line and it looked like the Vinylux and was also an extra 5 dollars to try with a manicure. I didn't try it but I may next time if I see a color i like.

I have used Vinylux for two years and LOVE it. Particularly the color Lavishly Loved - if I get the manicure done professionally, I can get almost two weeks out of it by putting a top coat on every other day starting at day 6.
But my friend uses it and it chips right away. So perhaps different nails respond to it differently?
Yet the Sally Hanson version of UV-less gels chips on me within the same day. So I think you just have to find your formulation and stick with it. Sorry it didn't work for you!

I've used Vinylux at home with all of their recommended products. The Scrub Fresh did as much damage as gels would have done. The first polish I got lasted a little over a week. The second and third ones I ordered and tried chipped in under 36 hours. I'm sticking with Julep, OPI, Chanel, and Nailtiques with a good top coat. It does much better.
I get it on my toes and love it. I've never tried on my nails. Shellac for lyfffe.
Yeah, toes are different. Pedicures last 2+ weeks unless I'm at the beach/pool in summer. I love the color gels staying power, but not the damage and price. :/

What base/top coat do you use?
If I'm staying away from gel, regular nail polish is the way to go. I've been using orly rubber (?) base, Essie polish and Essie gel setter and/or sech vite top coat. I feel like I've tried many base and top coats and ehh. I do love sech vite for the quick drying and shiny finish.

I was using Seche Vite, but switched to Deborah Lipman's Addicted to Speed. I got it at Sephora. It doesn't shrink and it's very thin which makes it dry super fast. I'm still on the fence but, I like it better than Zoya with the drops, Essie, Orly, Seche Vite, and Poshe at the moment. Unfortunately, it's not cheap but , Sephora's return policy made it worth a shot. I also use a layer of Gelous with the green cap from Sally's between each layer of polish. It sounds like it should take forever to dry but, I'm ready for the next coat by the time the last one is done. I skip it when I do the last layer and top coat.

I've done that with gelous in the past and it's ok but a little thick. I'll think about trying the DL. Thanks!
