I've only been to one, and I think me and my mom split on a gift card. I also got her a shower and wedding gift, and chipped in to her bachelorette party fund. I'm not as bitter as I sound, but I felt the engagement party was gift-grabby.

This is how I usually feel although I know that this is all her dad's idea and that she didn't want it. There are over 250 people going to this thing on Saturday night.
I was going to go the wine route and then remembered that she can't drink for a year.

If she has a registry already, you can get something small, or a gift card to the store. I’ve also seen bottles of wine, ring holders, bridal planning books, craft store gift cards (if you know she’s DIY), restaurant gift cards. Cash is always good.
