Please ladies have cake at your shower!!! I just went to one without cake and I'm so sad now.
Who doesn't serve cake at a shower? So odd.
What did they serve?
For desserts they had pumpkin mini muffins, chocolate chip cookies, and funfetti dip with nilla wafers. They had lots of snacky food and chicken salad sandwiches but only cake sized plates so you couldn't eat much!

Funfetti dip?
It was amazing! Basically dippable frosting. Funfetti cake mix, 2 c vanilla yogurt, 1 c cool whip.
bcarp30, I took a 9.5 hr flight at 20 weeks and I purchased socks but never wore them. It was a daytime flight so I was up and moving around a lot. I definitely would have put them on for a nighttime flight, though.

This would be more than enough for me, but I don't have much of a sweet tooth. H and I were the weirdos who didn't have cake at our wedding (the menu did include a dessert of choice).
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I forgot you just did that! I try to get up but it depends on DD and how much attention she needs. I'm hoping DH will help me out with her but he gets so stressed when we travel with her probably not. He does many things well but travel with a toddler is not one!
We had a good week last week. At our ultrasound we were able to see a strong heartbeat of 135. We also saw that this was probably going to be a twin pregnancy, but the other embryo didn't orogess at all so there was a small empty sac. I was a little sad that it didn't progress, but am very excited that we have a strong healthy baby right now. Our RE also showed me that there was a pocket of blood in my uterus, but she didn't seem to concerned about it. She said it pretty common.
I have another ultrasound this coming Thursday and then I have my first OB appointment on the 28th.
So do I need compression somethings for flying at 31 weeks? It'll just be two 2-hour (or so) flights with a layover in between, each direction.
I think your fine from a clot perspective, but if you swell a lot during the day you may want them. I don't have an issue with daytime swelling so I'd be fine.

Not much happening this week over here. I've got no appointment Until next week. I'm feeling ok, just tired. I can't tell if this is regular pregnancy tiredness original this bedrest is killing me. Just to go upstairs to take a shower is exhausting.
Good luck on all your appointments this week, everyone.
I can't believe I'll be 20 weeks this week. Halfway through! I felt like the first trimester dragged on forever but now time is starting to fly by quickly.
Good luck to everyone with appts this week, can't wait for the updates
Okay I am annoyed. I haven't gotten the MFM to code my first visit appropriately. I just got my EOB back from the second visit. I have a $175 hospital copay every appointment for the u/s and the physician office visit is at $0 (like all my other pregnancy related u/s and visits). I find it so annoying that I have to pay $175 every 2-4 weeks to be told "okay, let's keep an eye on the kidneys. We'll see what they look like after birth." I kinda want to see if I can have the scans done at OB and meet with MFM, or if it's really necessary for me to have these $175 scans every few weeks. They've told me there will be no alterations to the timing or type of delivery based on them. Do you think it's worth asking or am I being too cheap?

Yaaaay!!!
I spent like 45 minutes in the exam room waiting for the doctor at my 6w ultrasound. That might have been the most nervewracking hour of my life.

Yay callmehales! I felt the same way when my RE got me ready to be booted. But I'm not ready yet!!
Good luck to everyone with appointments this week!
Tip for my fellow headache sufferers: my midwife suggested a magnesium supplement (400mg at least) to help with headache frequency. I've been on them for 5ish days, and I think it's helping!
We got the nursery 100% cleared out this weekend which feels sooo good! Ready to get on it. And! After about a month renovations, I have one fully functioning bathroom! Not done, but fully functioning!

I experimented with not taking my 1/2 Unisom every other night this weekend (skipped Thursday and Saturday) and I don't think this is going to work. I felt pretty crappy by the end of Friday and Sunday, and I still don't feel well this morning. I'm sucking on a Preggie Pop Drop, which I haven't done in months!
Today is my one-hour glucose screening. DH and I carpooled so he can come with me; peoples' stories on these boards about it making them sick have me nervous!
On Saturday we went to Disneyland with friends and has a great time. My feet and hips were so sore by the end of the day, but I wore a support belt so my belly wasn't bothering me.
Ugh, I'm tired! Mondays while pregnant are even worse than when not!
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
Does anyone who had PIO injections still feel sore around the injection sites? If I rub the area hard, it feels bruised. It's been ~14 weeks since we stopped the daily shots. I'm not worried about it, just wondering if anyone experienced the same after prolonged IM injections.
24w1d today which means VIABILITY WEEK. All of the sudden yesterday I was like "holy crap I'm growing a tiny human in my belly and it's going to be born and be our child." DH kept laughing because I just kept saying things like that all day. Apparently, I was holding my breath more than I thought. It was a busy weekend getting ready for baby, we ordered our nursery furniture since BRU has 20% off all furniture this month. We opened the CC and saved a additional 15%. Now it's time to get the room cleaned out and painted so we've got somewhere to put it. Our invites for our first baby shower went out, we got 2 bags of hand me downs, had our first doula appointment, and I got my maternity leave plans finalized.
boiler717 DH & I have been adamant about avoiding extra costs (didn't even see RE for any u/s for the pregnancy because it's OOP). I think it's completely within reason because it doesn't sound like it would be compromising your's or baby's care.

Yay!
I google-image searched for "25 week baby" last week, and it was eye-opening. Of course all the pictures are of babies tied to monitors and all that, but they're...babies. Real babies. It's crazy that that's what this wiggly creature in my belly actually looks like now.
