How much work would it be to paint these dressers? I emailed the guy and asked if he would accept $100 but now I am worried it might be too much work. Do I need to hire a professional or is this something I could pull off on my own. I am not very handy, LOL.

It was a ton of work doing L's dresser but it originally had cherry stain on it which kept bleeding through the primer, so I had to make sure that I got every piece off and the wood basically looked brand new.
The mirror would take some work because you would have to use a drimmel or small pieces of sand paper but the rest would be so easy! Those are so cute too! What color are you thinking of painting them?
YHL gives pretty good directions. Sand down to bare wood. Use OIL-BASED primer and brush on. Then use water based latex and roller on with a foam roller. What takes forever is the waiting between coats.

We just paid $200 I think to get Samantha's dresser refinished.
It was well worth the money IMHO.
It would have taken H two days between letting things dry and running back and forth to Home Depot. And his time is $, so it was an obvious choice to just pay someone to do it.
Well, I haven't heard back from the guy yet so I think it's safe to say that he has found another home for the dressers. Bummer. They were just what I was looking for. Ever since I saw Janelle's post of her coral dresser I was wanting to paint them that color. Oh well, there will be other dressers......
But instead, I bought this super cute metal petal tractor for $35! Those things retail for like $200+. It will be perfect for my two family sessions I have scheduled this week, both of which include small boys
I love craigslist. You never know what you will find

Have fun with your pedal car! H has been talking about starting to collect those. His uncle is sending us down one that he bought for $40. We are going to repaint it pink for L.
