When would you start to call about info on the upcoming school year? Ds returns to school the Thursday after Labor Day. He is going into first grade.
The school has not sent out a supply list (I was told I can pick it up at the school between 10 -3pm) and I have no idea when the bus is coming for him in the mornings or if we will be at a bus stop or it picks up at the house. I only know who his teacher is because his K teacher decided to move up to first grade and we were allowed to choose her as his teacher.
I'm just annoyed at how unprepared I am for the school year and for once it isn't my fault, lol.

we start on the 6th here, too and just got the packet in the mail on saturday. I'd call on Monday if you don't get it by then.
many schools wait until about a week before- to lessen the amount of annoying parents calling to request changes, etc. (i used to teach... this is a huge problem in some areas)
I would also call on Monday if you haven't heard anything. I think bussing is determined quite late since things can change. I am surprised you don't have a school supply list though. We get ours before the end of the school year, for the next year.
We don't find out which teacher they have until the first day of school.

can you download the information from the school or county website? we got the 1st grade info about 3 weeks before school started. but were not advised of their teacher until the Friday before school at a back to school night (although, like you we already knew his teacher)
Growing up we weren't given lists until the first day of school, and had about a week to buy everything we needed. Are you sure your district sends things out?

We don't get anything in the mail around here. Supply lists for next year come home in the previous year's final report card and are available both from the office and on the PTA website. Teacher assignments are posted to the school website the afternoon before open house, and open house (visit the classroom, drop off school supplies, meet the teacher, etc.) is always the Thursday before school starts.
Last year going into K he got the packet around late July. Same school. Thisbyear, the principal left in May and we have an interim principal which could be the issue. I emailed about the supply list and that's when they said I could pick one up. I hate to be *that* parent, but I need to make a plan about the bus situation. I work from home, so I need to move clients around to take him to the bus stop.

I didn't think they mailed the supply lists out. Target and Walmart usually have copies of all of the local school supply lists. Do they have it on the school website?
School supply lists and bus info are both on our school district or school website. They were also in the local freebie paper. The supply lists are also available at Target and Walmart.
We find out the teacher on Friday at "meet the teacher night" which is oh-so-conveniently held from 2pm-4pm.
