Our kids' Drs office is switching from a clinic based billing system to a hospital based billing system. This means we can't afford to be seen there anymore, because we'd have to meet our $5K deductible before our insurance even kicks in vs just paying the $25 copay like we do now :-( We LOVE their pediatrician and I'm dreading trying to find someone else. And really surprises me that they can switch to hospital billing for outpatient type services.
That's the thing- right now they're "clinic based service" but when they switch it will be "outpatient hospital service". So still outpatient service, but the entire clinic will be viewed, for billing purposes, as an extension of the hospital instead of as a separate clinic. Sigh.
