Everyone kept telling me I would go late since he was my first and I was about to smack the next person that told me. I had one person that posted on my wall when I was a couple days over due that she hadn't seen any posts from me in a couple days and was starting to get worried.
DS was born at 38 weeks. I was not expecting that at all. My water broke at work.
That was my biggest fear- water breaking at work even though I've heard something like 10% of women actually have their water break outside of the hospital.
My water broke at 1 am at 38w 5d and he was born less than 3 hrs later via c/s. I was supposed to have a c/s at 39w3d.
My sister delivered at 41w1d after being induced for her first.

I went into labor at 38w4d and had her that same day. I was preparing myself to go late, but I started having blood pressure issues at the end, so possible induction was mention. Turns out she came on her own before any of that was needed, so it was a pleasant surprise.
I went into labor before my water broke and it broke in the hospital. She was out less than 2 hours after my water broke.

I'll bet that the early votes are skewed because of those of us that were induced. It seems like there are a good number of people around here that were induced. I was sent from a dr. appointment directly to the hospital to deliver both times, so it's not like it mattered that I was induced vs. going into labor early naturally in terms of time to prepare to deliver early.
DH was convinced I'd go late (because the "stats" say that first time deliveries are usually late), but my water broke at 38 weeks, 4 days. He almost didn't believe me when I called him (he wasn't home).
#1 - at 36 and a half days my midwife told me"it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that you are in labor". I laughed and told her I hadn't felt baby drop and wasn't having contractions. DD was born at 37 weeks exactly with less than two hours of labor
#2 - born at 36 and a half weeks, again with a short labor
#3 - expecting to deliver between 34 & 36 weeks - my last two quick labors were likely the result of abruptions, which I am hoping to avoid this time

DD#1 would have been late if I hadn't needed to be induced on my EDD for medical reasons. She wasn't showing any signs of arriving on her own at that point.
With #2, I was induced at 39w1d, and while I was having some twinges by that point who knows when things really would have gotten moving.
These responses are making me nervous. I've been banking on at least 40w.
I always assumed I'd go around 40 also but she is measuring 4 days ahead now and at my 20w appointment, I was measuring at 22w when they measure your stomach. I know thee change all the time but now I've been wondering when I'm going to go.
