I really enjoyed this book. Part of the reason I decided to read it was b/c we are going to Paris in a few weeks and I just wanted to read a book set in Paris, and had read good reviews of this.
I truly do not remember learning about the French Revolution in high school. If I did, it was quickly forgotten. And while this is historical fiction, I feel like this book will give me a good base for appreciating some historical things in Paris, especially our trip to Versailles. I actually now want to read up more on it, and I would not have if I hadn't read this book.
The story of Marie intertwined with the FR was done very well. Sometimes it was difficult to keep straight the accessory characters, but mostly just b/c of their "different" names. I never got bored while reading this and often could not put it down.
This took me a little longer to get through than other books I read, it was slower paced, but I really enjoyed it also. Now I am not sure what to read next!

I literally just finished this. I loved it, and I actually rented Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette movie because of it. The movie was excellent as well!
