My sincerest apologizes to each of you ladies that were offended by any photos or comments that were seen on my FB over the weekend--none were meant to be racist and assure you that wasn't my boyfriends intent either when choosing his costume--Morgan Freeman. I understand that deleting the photos, and no matter how many times I apologize, will change how you feel about me and my decision to post them, but again, I'm deeply sorry.
fuck his intentions.
they are irrelevant.
sorry your boyfriend is ignorant and disrespectful.
he is in the wrong (and so are you for posting those pictures and the comment).

You are stupid and your boyfriend is stupid. Unless you live UNDER a rock you know that blackface is offensive. You and your BF deserve one another.
I don't understand how you can say that you weren't trying to be offensive or didn't know how racist this is when you captioned a picture with "once you go black, you never go back" AND someone commented: "Surprised there wasnt a news article and protest over this blackface costum. Love it. A++++ for stickin it to society"
I CALL BULL FUCKING SHIT. BULLSHIT.
Actually the comment was "...you do go back" Absolutely horrifying...

own it.
If my husband ever came down in blackface (which he wouldn't because he's not racist) I wouldn't go to the party with him, I wouldn't take his photo, I wouldn't post it on facebook, I wouldn't caption it in more offensive ways. She had plenty of opportunity here. She and the boyfriend are ignorant and her apology is bullshit. Sorry if I offended you guys with offensive shit but I didn't mean too. Whatever
To get to the point of even thinking it was okay to post these, meaning they have been in public with friends like that and not one person said a damn thing (assuming so, anyway,) about this?!? Fucking gross. SO fucking gross.
I'm glad callmehales called her out publicly, but was she the only one?
@natariru is the one who tagged her...she's my #1 lady crush, lol

It said you DO go back... but either way, yes, this comment was ignorant as hell which is why I deleted it along with the picture. And for the comment that was made, I don't even know that person--it was just a person that was at the party.
I have removed myself from all you ladies FBs and will vacate the board to avoid anymore bad feelings.

Yup, good idea. Kinda like when NewOrleans told( I think it was nursewife?) time to fake your own death.

IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT YOU DON'T KNOW THEM. what matters is that they commended YOUR boyfriend, on YOUR pictures for a costume that is disgusting. not just in poor taste...but really REALLY racist. and they know it. and so do you. and you don't seem to care.

Beyond all the chucklefuckery (TM @koko) happening, I would like to know how someone decides to be Morgan Freeman for Halloween. Morgan Freeman is...an actor. Maybe you go as an identifiable movie character played by Morgan Freeman, if anything (but please don't do blackface). But there is nothing outrageous about Morgan Freeman the man himself that makes for a good Halloween costume. He doesn't have a distinct look beyond looking like an older man. I really think her boyfriend must have just wanted to be a black guy for Halloween just to be able to do blackface and figured Morgan Freeman is beloved by all, so why not?
And I can't hit my head on my desk any more than I am right now with the fucking stupid "I'm sorry you were all offended" "apology."
Did anyone mention yet that it was a Black and White party? Because... That makes this whole thing worse, no?
What's worse is that it was a b&w party full of people who think this is okay and praised it, yet only one person actually went so far to go full blackface.

FTFY because do you really think any other board will welcome you?

I find this thing terribly unfortunate. There is never a time when painting yourself in Blackface is appropriate. NEVER. The history of blackface is one mired in stereotyping of the worst kind for black people. You don't do it. Ever. It was used to denigrate black people. The actors acted out what they perceived about black people. It is racist and offensive. It will NEVER have a connotation for black people other than as a throwback to a time where we were lynched.
It's obvious that no one in your friendship circle told you that you were out of line. Because trust, if I were at the party you attended, I would have cussed you and your boyfriend out and made a hell of a scene. You were out of line. You should be thankful that folks called you out. Because as we say in my neighborhood - you could have run up on the wrong one and your boyfriend would have gotten the shit beat out of him. #realtalk

You are stupid and your boyfriend is stupid. Unless you live UNDER a rock you know that blackface is offensive. You and your BF deserve one another.
For a split second, I was thinking, well, at least he is just a boyfriend and she can get out of this. But just as quickly, it occurred to me that her simple ass was standing beside him, grinning, went out in public with him like this, took a picture and put it on FB. So I guess she would not get out of it, because she gave her approval for this nonsense over and over and over again. They're both disgusting.

Right! You're basically standing there co-signing asshat behavior. No. Ma'am. You are just as guilty. I mean - WHERE ARE YOUR PEOPLE? Ain't nobody tell you this shit was out of order?
This right here is why you need to evaluate your friendship circles.

Annnnnd apparently it doesn't violate FB's community standards.
Virtually nothing does. I've reported straight up graphic, violent death threats and gotten the "we found that this post doesn't violate Facebook's community standards."
Don't you work for a university too? I sincerely hope you never have to deal with minority students because I can't imagine it would be with anything other than thinking they would be a good costume, right?

Yup. I've reported straight up slurs targeting specific people before, and nothing. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is that FB outsources their review of these items to, like, an antarctic way station filled with people who have never lived in a functioning society where they could understand what racism, misogyny and homophobia actually are.
